A Christmas message from our CEO
With 2025 almost upon us, it is time to reflect on the year that was and gear up for the new year ahead. If 2022 was all about big things – events, infrastructure, elections, and 2023 was all about economic development, 2024 was about openings: Celebrating the successful completion of some long running projects, like the newly developed Hawke House Bed & Breakfast, or our workers accommodation at the Bordertown Caravan Park, and opening fantastic events like our Intergenerational Arts Trail. It was a busy year in which we completed a tremendous amount of work, from infrastructure like the seal widening on Siding and Don Hunt Roads to the designs for our industrial and residential estates and everything in between. We also undertook a lot of strategic planning for the years ahead, from preparing our own Strategic Plan 2024 – 2034 to working with our regional partners to develop a Regional Growth Strategy for the Limestone Coast. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all of you, whether you’ve contributed to community projects, volunteered, provided feedback or used our services and facilities. Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. See you in 2025!

Limestone Coast Regional Growth Strategy - Have your say Over the last few months, we and other councils in the Limestone Coast, Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC), and the Limestone Coast Local Government Association (LCLGA) have drafted a Regional Growth Strategy. The Strategy aims to support our Region’s growth and prosperity. It has been informed by economic research and input gathered from our community, industries and stakeholders in March this year. The draft Strategy outlines how the RDALC, LCLGA and councils will work together towards the goals of being: • A region people love to live in • A productive region that people love to work in • A region people love to visit • A region enabled by quality infrastructure. It outlines initiatives and collaborative advocacy in areas including housing, services, training, tourism, value-add industry, the circular economy, roads and utilities. Your feedback is essential to make sure the Strategy reflects all of the Limestone Coast region, including its most northern district. You can view the draft Strategy here. Please provide your feedback by 5pm Sunday 15 December 2024 here: www.surveymonkey.com/r/limestone.

These additions make it easy to enjoy a self-guided tour at your own pace while learning about the rich history of Clayton Farm. Next time you have family or friends visiting, why not take them out to Clayton Farm for a memorable outing? We’d love to see you there!
Would you remember a plan that's just in your head if you're surrounded by smoke, heat and flames? Making a choice when a bushfire threatens is too late. Your safety and survival during a bushfire will depend on how prepared you are and the decisions you make, and a written plan will take the pressure off you and avoid arguments and delays.
Things to consider when completing your plan;
Think about who your plan will protect: Me Other Adults Children People who need assistance Pets and livestock
Consider what you'll do if: You're at work The pets run away
DABBLE & DRINK FOR DISABILTY To celebrate International Day of People with Disability a special Christmas themed “paint and sip” was held at The Harvest Providore in Keith. Participants of all ages and abilities enjoyed a few refreshments, platters and laughs while painting a colorful Christmas wreath. Naomi Fallon led the group step-by- step through the process and the results speak for themselves. Councils Disability Access and Inclusion Plan will be updated in 2025. If you would like to provide any feedback to assist us to identify and implement opportunities of areas for improvements regarding access and inclusion please contact Tracey Grosser at the Council.
