I have heard Leadership described as “not about a title or a designation. It's about impact, influence and inspira- tion. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work, and you have to inspire team-mates and customers.” John Burrell embodies this description. John Burrell is a 1988 initiate of The University of Southern Mississippi Chap- ter, the Kappa Iota of Kappa Alpha Psi ® ; 31 years in the bond of Kappa. John has served in the administration of five Grand Polemarchs. His signature achievement is providing leadership for the development and coordination of Membership Training Academy initiatives. He has affiliated with several alumni chapters in the Southwest- ern, Southern and Eastern Provinces as well as a life member of six provinces: Southwestern, Southern, Middle Western, Eastern, East Central and Northeastern. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the International Headquar- ters of our Noble Clan. John operates by the belief that “Anyone can be deceived. An honest enemy is always better than a friend who lies.” John Burrell pays less attention to what people say and more to what they do. Ac- tions will always lead you to the truth. In his brief tenure his due diligence and te- nacity unearthed irregularities unbefitting our grand fraternity and his integrity and insight have proven invaluable towards the betterment of IHQ.
