Day 5: Xanthos Visit the ancient Lycian site of Xanthos, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel down the Xanthos River by canoe, passing through tranquil and unspoilt rural backwaters, before eventually emerging at Patara Beach which is a protected nesting area for giant loggerhead turtles. Day 6: Kas Today there is the opportunity to visit the Church of St Nicholas at Demre (Myra) which is where the 4th-Century Bishop Nicholas is said to have anonymously given money to the poor, thus spawning the legend of Father Christmas. This afternoon is free to spend at your leisure. Day 7: Kekova Island Sea-kayak over sunken ruins to Kekova Island, one of the most scenic areas in Lycia with picturesque islands, bays, and small ancient sites. Later, paddle to the picturesque, whitewashed village of Simena, whose harbour is dotted with ancient sarcophagi (tombs), Roman baths, and a castle. Day 8: Kas - UK After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 1: UK - Kas Today you’ll fly to Kas and transfer to your hotel. Kas is a laid-back fishing town on the Turkish Lycian coast with a host of adventurous activities on offer. Day 2: Kas Enjoy a full day boat trip and spend the day at sea. From your boat you can fully appreciate the dramatic and beautiful coastline and there will be plenty of opportunity for swimming and snorkelling. Day 3: Taurus Mountains Head for the hills to explore foothills of the Taurus Mountains, where you will find cedar forests, streams, shady glades, and tiny, charming villages. You’ll walk from a high pass, descent to a canyon, and then up to a mountain village to enjoy lunch with a local family in a typical village house. Day 4: Kas Today is at your leisure to explore Kas as you please. Kas is built around the remains of several ancient sites including Kas Theatre.
