Day 5: Florence Visit the ‘art city’ of Florence and take in the amazing galleries and museums, and the beautiful city itself. Spend this morning admiring the architecture, then enjoy a free afternoon. Optional afternoon excursion to the Uffizi Gallery and/ or a night at the Montecatini Opera Festival Day 6: Orvieto - Rome Stop off to marvel at the impressive fortress town of Orvieto today on the way to Rome, your next destination. Days 7-8: Rome Take a guided tour of Rome’s famous sights including the Spanish Steps and the ornate Trevi Fountain. Your evening and your second day in Rome are free for you to spend as you please. Optional guided tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel Days 9-11: Pompeii - Sorrento Peninsula Explore the beautiful Montecassino Abbey in the morning, followed by a guided walking tour through the volcanic ruins of Pompeii. Later you’ll arrive in the Sorrento Peninsula, where you’ll enjoy two free days as you wish. Optional excursions to the isle of Capri and the Amalfi Coast Day 12: Pizzo Calabro - Sicily Stop off for lunch in Calabria before heading across the sea to Sicily and enjoy dinner in Taormina. Day 13: Taormina Take in the spectacular views of Mount Etna and the Sicilian coast on a tour of the cliffside city of Taormina. Day 14: Giardini Naxos Enjoy a day at leisure to explore today. Tonight, get together and enjoy a farewell drink. Optional excursion to Mount Etna volcano and/or 16-seater jeep mountain adventure Day 15: Catania - UK Check out and transfer to Sicily’s Catania Airport for your return flight to the UK.
