The 2024 Annual Report is here! Inside, you’ll see how your support has truly touched the lives of the children and families we serve. We’re so grateful for your continued commitment.

2024 Annual Report

Our Mission Ryan House enriches the quality of life and creates cherished memories for children and their families, providing a much-needed break from 24/7 caregiving, as they navigate life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. Our Vision We believe that everyone deserves care, dignity, peace, and compassion, especially as they face the unimaginable challenges of a life-limiting condition. As a leader in children’s palliative care, our goal is twofold: Providing care to children and their families and sharing information with other communities to assist them in developing their own unique models of care to help more families in need.

Our Values Our values encompass everyone in our community.

Care : We provide loving care and enhance the quality of life for children and families.

People : We nurture relationships built on mutual trust.

Compassion : We navigate challenging situations with kindness and love.

“We cannot express how grateful we are for Ryan House and the exceptional care from the excellent staff. Thank You So Much!”

Dignity : We honor and respect the unique journeys of all children and their families.

Peace : We embrace children and their families while offering comfort and support in a homelike environment.

Providing hope,

health, and happiness

Thank you for being part of our Ryan House family.

As we celebrate a remarkable milestone, Ryan House’s 15th Anniversary in 2025, we’re excited to share a refreshed look for our 2024 Annual Report, including our commemorative logo, designed by our generous friends at LAVIDGE! It’s more than a new design; it’s a tribute to the compassion, generosity, and unwavering support that have brought us here and continue to guide our future. More than 15 years ago, Ryan House began as a vision rooted in love, dignity, and comfort for children with life-limiting conditions. Today, that vision is a reality, thanks to you. Every moment of respite, every memory made, and every ounce of comfort provided to our families is made possible by your generosity.

Because of you, in the past 15 years, we’ve been able to: • Welcome and care for over 1,000 children since 2010 • Offer 550,560 hours of much-needed respite care • Fill countless hearts with cherished memories

These are not just numbers. They are lifelines.

Behind every one of these moments is a community of generous supporters who make them possible. In this report, you will read about one of our incredible donors, Sundt, whose renovation of our beloved S’more Café—truly the heart of our home—has created a brighter, warmer gathering space for families. Their continued generosity through the Sundt Foundation has supported our signature events and granted vital funding that directly impacts our mission.

Laying the Foundation of Love: A Legacy of Sundt Support and One Family’s Deep Connection

“Our team brought not only their skills, but their heart to this project... That’s what building with purpose truly means.”

was as personal as it was professional. Gwen, who lives with profound medical needs due to a traumatic brain injury at birth, has found joy, safety, and support at Ryan House for more than a decade. It’s like her second home, and the place where her family finds a few precious days each year to rest and reset.

“We are incredibly proud of this partnership,” said Emily Dwosh, executive director of the Sundt Foundation and Sundt community relations manager.

It takes more than walls and windows to build a home—it takes heart. And Sundt Construction has helped build that heart into the spaces where families gather, heal, and find comfort at Ryan House. For more than a decade, Sundt and the Sundt Foundation have supported Ryan House, not just with generous donations, but with skilled hands, compassionate hearts, and an unwavering commitment to service. Their support reaches far beyond bricks and blueprints. Through the years, they’ve given grants, gala sponsorships, in-kind donations, and volunteered time building alongside staff and community partners. Sundt’s presence has been as foundational as the beams that hold up the walls.

“There’s a three- dimensional tree with shelves on the Café wall now that echoes the tree in Ryan House’s logo,” McDonald said. “To me, it’s deeply symbolic— planting roots, building something lasting. That’s what Sundt does. This wasn’t just another job; this was a labor of love, and part of our legacy.”

Most recently, Sundt helped transform one of Ryan House’s most beloved spaces: the S’more Café. In just three weeks, 26 Sundt employee-owners volunteered more than 300 hours to renovate the kitchen, working with 11 trade partners who generously donated their time, services, and materials to upgrade the space with new appliances, cabinetry, countertops, and accessibility features. The result is a warm, fully accessible, family-friendly kitchen where

“Our team brought not only their skills, but their heart to this project. The redesigned kitchen enhances more than just functionality. It brings renewed comfort to the families who rely on Ryan House. That’s what building with purpose truly means.” Through their hands-on work, unwavering generosity, and deeply personal connection, Sundt and the Sundt Foundation have helped reinforce what Ryan House truly is—a home built not just with materials, but with meaning. “The kitchen really is the heart of Ryan House, and thanks to Sundt Construction, it now reflects the love and support that define our home,” said Ryan House Executive Director Tracy Leonard-Warner. “From day one, Jesse, Karla, and Sundt Field Engineer James McInnes approached this project with generosity, creativity, and a true understanding of our mission. The redesigned S’more Café, with its warm greens and natural wood, has a cozy, camp- like feel that beautifully fits Ryan House. It’s now a space where families gather, volunteers connect, and meaningful moments happen every day. We’re so grateful. This renovation didn’t just update our kitchen, it strengthened the foundation we’re built on.”

Special Thanks!

The S’more Café renovation wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of Sundt’s trade partners, who donated time, talent, and materials:

That legacy is woven through the core values of Sundt. Rather than writing a check, Sundt employees rolled up their sleeves, using their professional skills to create something that will serve families for years to come.

comfort and care are served daily.

“This project wasn’t just about updating appliances—it was about building a place where families could feel safe, supported, and at home,” said Sundt Project Manager Karla Ricci. “The fact that we were contributing to children and families in their most tender moments gave everything we did so much meaning.” For Jesse McDonald, a Sundt Project Director and father to six incredible kids, including 16-year-old Gwen, who’s been enjoying respite stays at Ryan House since 2012, the project
