A planter ready seedbed is required for higher-efficiency planting and fast, uniform emergence. That means a seedbed that has a smooth surface finish and flat seedbed floor where the planter row unit can ride. Each time the field cultivator shank trips or floats, the sweep pivots, creating gouges in the seedbed floor that make the planter row unit bounce. AFS Soil Command with Seedbed Sensing provides a smooth, but not compacted, surface for the planter to ride on as it precisely places each seed.
