THE SPOTLIGHT IS ON YOU:
2023 Is All About Our Clients
In November, we gathered with family, friends, and co-workers, gave thanks, and ate a little bit too much turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie after our annual trot. We expressed gratitude, and I was especially grateful for having spent some wonderful quality time with my father here in Florida. In December, we got together with those nearest and dearest to us to celebrate the magic of the holidays. We attended Christmas parties, exchanged gifts, decorated our homes, and baked tons of delicious goodies. Now, in January, we turn our focus to reflection and renewal with a new year on our doorstep. I am using the year 2023 to specifically and intently concentrate and reflect on you, our clients. Everything we do at Wolf Retirement Navigation is about you — your needs and goals, fears and concerns, transitions and life changes, to name just a few, are at the center of our attention. Not only in our office, but in our social media posts, our webinars and workshops, social gatherings and events, our focus is on you! As you know, we are family-centric and client-focused. We want to be involved in your journey from the very beginning, prior to retirement if possible, and most definitely during your retirement years. Our relationship with each of our clients is a personalized partnership. For those of you who have been with us for quite some time, you know we have traversed the highest of highs and the lowest of lows during the years leading up to 2023. And we will continue to navigate life together for many years to come. These past few years have been a challenge in many ways, and we are so grateful for you and for your continued confidence in us. Our goal is to deliver the very best for you. So, we are counting on your input, questions, and concerns this year. We want to hear your stories, starting with where you came from and how you found us. Your history, your questions and feedback propel our webinars and ensure we can continue to deliver the very best topics
of discussion, exploring options and solutions for you at all your stages of pre- and post-retirement years.
“Our focus is on you!”
We appreciate and are humbled by the trust you place in us every single day. It motivates us to do even better for you, whenever possible, and to excel in our partnership and friendship with you. The biggest compliment that you, as our valued clients, pay us is when you feel strong enough about our company to share our name and refer a friend or family member to us. We wholeheartedly thank you for helping us grow our family, and we look forward to serving folks who are important to you. And speaking of our network of family and friends, our holiday party last month was so much fun and a giant success, not to mention the food was plentiful and absolutely delicious! New friendships and relationships were formed, and we truly feel blessed. Remember, your family is our family, and your friends are our friends. It was a wonderful time to gather together and celebrate a fabulous 2022, and we look forward to an even better and more successful 2023. Together, we will conquer anything and everything! Happy New Year from all of us at Wolf Retirement Navigation!

SETTING AND MAINTAINING BUDGETS IN 2023
The 5 Best Apps to Track Your Spending
Lots of people make New Year’s resolutions, and one of the most common themes is improving their personal finances. Whether they set out to better manage their debt, invest more in savings, or budget their spending better, a quick and easy-to-use app on their phone can make that goal much more attainable. Here are five of the best tools to track your spending: Mint CNBC rated this gem of an app the best free budgeting app! Along with extensive budgeting features that sync your checking accounts, savings accounts, loans, credit cards, investments, and bills, Mint can track your expenses and categorize them for budgeting. You can even set limits for each personalized category. The app is helpful for paying down debt, checking your credit score, and saving money. YNAB Instead of tracking past transactions, YNAB is one step ahead and follows a “zero-based budgeting system,” which helps you plan for each dollar earned. When you’re paid, the app assists you in mapping out how much of the income you can spend in each category you set, helping you become more intentional with your spending habits.
Personal Capital Used mainly for investments, you can also get some budgeting assistance with this app! Checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, 401(k)s, loans, and mortgages can all be tracked and monitored on Personal Capital. The app even offers a net worth and portfolio tracker to help you get more out of your money. Honeydue Honeydue is an excellent app for couples because it allows each partner to see and track their finances, either separately or jointly. It can sync up bank accounts, investments, and loans and organize expenses into custom categories with personalized limits for each. The best part is that despite being made for partners, privacy can be toggled to each user’s specifications. Fudget If you’d rather not sync up all of your financial accounts, Fudget may be right for you. The app is straightforward, with lists of incoming and outgoing money and a balance tracker. There aren’t any budgeting categories or graphs to interpret — it’s finance at its simplest. No matter what financial goals you strive to achieve this year, an app is an easy and accessible way to get you on the golden road in 2023!
Catching You Up on Andrea SHE GOT HITCHED!
As many of you likely already know, our amazing and much-loved Director of First Impressions, Andrea Challenger, got married! For a little bit of a back story, in 2020, Andrea’s now husband proposed in Disney Springs (she is a HUGE Disney fanatic), just as everything began reopening after the height of COVID-19. Of course, she excitedly said, “Yes!” Originally, Andrea and her fiancé planned to be married in February 2022, but they postponed their wedding until October to allow for more guests to travel safely in order to attend their big day. So, on October 16, 2022, at the charming Chandler Oaks Barn in St. Augustine, Florida, the two finally exchanged their “I dos.” The wedding was the right size, with roughly 120 people in attendance, and the evening could not have been more perfect or more romantic. “The excitement and anticipation were all worth it. Being able to see it all come together with my vision and touches of
Disney was so magical and beautiful,” Andrea tells us. “The help of my family and my wedding coordinator, along with the incredible outdoor venue, was so very much appreciated. I couldn’t have asked for more. The groomsmen looked great, and my bridesmaids were absolutely gorgeous. Everything was perfect.” It was a glorious night, and everything came together so well for Andrea and her husband. Next month, they will be heading off to their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic at an all-inclusive, adult-only resort. It’ll be the first big vacation the two take alone without other family members and friends, and they look forward to relaxing and enjoying the sights! Andrea, we are so excited for you and wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness! Safe travels, and have a lot of fun in the Dominican Republic! Many congratulations!

SLOW COOKER CHICKEN AND WHITE BEAN STEW
Inspired by EatingWell.com
INGREDIENTS
• 4 15-oz cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed • 6 cups chicken broth • 1 cup chopped yellow onion • 1 cup sliced carrots • 1 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary • 1 4-oz Parmesan cheese rind
• 2 1-lb bone-in chicken breasts • 4 cups chopped kale • 1 tbsp lemon juice • 1/2 tsp kosher salt • 1/2 tsp ground pepper • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese • 1/4 cup parsley leaves
DIRECTIONS
1. In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine beans, broth, onion, carrots, rosemary, and Parmesan rind. Top with chicken. Cover and cook on low until the beans and vegetables are tender, about 7–8 hours. 2. Remove chicken from slow cooker. On a clean cutting board, let the chicken rest until cool enough to handle, about 10 minutes. Shred the chicken and discard bones. 3. Return chicken to slow cooker and stir in kale. Cover and cook on high until kale is tender, 20–30 minutes. 4. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Discard the Parmesan rind. Serve the stew drizzled with oil and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and parsley.

Tips for Maintaining Hydration PAGE 4
Even if You Have to Trick Yourself Into Doing So DRINK MORE WATER!
For many, maintaining proper hydration is difficult — after all, water is essentially tasteless. According to Mayo Clinic, women should be ingesting 11.5 cups of water each day, and men should have 15.5 cups daily. This amount can be tough to swallow, but water is essential for your health, skin, and bodily functions. Here are some tips to up your water game. Invest in a ‘fluid buddy.’ Believe it or not, purchasing a thermos or reusable water bottle and taking it everywhere is a great way to increase your water intake. With a constant reminder to drink H2O in your cupholder, purse, or on your desk, taking a sip here and there will never slip your mind. Consume foods rich in H2O. Did you know that most fruits and vegetables are rich in water? Watermelon is 91% water, celery is 95% water, zucchini is 95% water, and honeydew and cantaloupe are both 90% water. Not only are these fruits refreshing, but they pack a punch when it comes to hydration! Don’t forget the straw. Straws help you consume more fluid in a shorter amount of time. Whether at home or a restaurant, sipping water through a straw can help you take in more without realizing it.
Build a routine. For many, drinking water just slips their minds. By building a routine, you’ll be on your way to meeting your daily
hydration needs without thinking twice. For example, you can get in the habit of drinking one large glass of water before bed and another upon waking. A large glass of water before each meal is also beneficial. Flavor your water. Whether you use citrus, mint leaves, cucumbers, or other flavor enhancers, giving your water a hint of a favorable taste will help you drink more without feeling like a chore. Whether consuming water is difficult because you are busy, forget to drink, get bored by the flavorless taste, or dislike the taste, with these tips, you are sure to be on your way to maintaining hydration.
