EFI Withdraws From drupa 2021 Out of an abundance of caution for employees, customers, prospects and partners, Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (EFI) has canceled its planned participation at drupa 2021. “Our company has a long, positive history with drupa, as do I personally, having also run two companies that have been major drupa exhibitors in the past,” said Jeff Jacobson, Chairman and CEO, EFI. “The show has always represented some of the best of what can be accom- plished at an in-person event for the global print industry. But, with the limited amount of knowledge anyone can have right now about what conditions will be for public gatherings early next year, withdrawing from drupa 2021 is an unfortunate albeit prudent decision,” Jacobson added. “All of us at EFI look forward to future drupa events beyond 2021 – and to other industry tradeshows – once the world has clearly moved past the current pandemic.”
the first time since July 2019. Inputs — expressed as sup- plier deliveries, inventories and imports — continued to indicate input-driven constraints to further production ex- pansion, but at slower rates compared to August. Invento- ry levels contracted again due to strong production output and supplier delivery difficulties. Overall, inputs improved compared to August and contributed positively to the PMI calculation. (The Supplier Deliveries and Inventories in- dexes directly factor into the PMI; the Imports Index does not.) Prices continued to expand at higher rates, reflecting a continued shift to seller pricing power — a positive for new-order growth. “Among the six biggest manufacturing industries, Food, Beverage & Tobacco Products remains the best-perform- ing sector, with Fabricated Metal Products and Chemical Products growing strongly. Computer & Electronic Prod- ucts and Transportation Equipment expanded moderately. Petroleum & Coal Products remained a headwind to PMI performance. “Manufacturing performed well in the month with de- mand, consumption and inputs registering growth indic- ative of a normal expansion cycle. While certain industry sectors are experiencing difficulties that will continue in the near term, the manufacturing community as a whole has learned to conduct business effectively and deal with the variables imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
