Jesus shall return to the earth (Rev. 19:11). At this time every eye shall see Him (Rev. 1 :7)., He shall be accompanied by His saints, His Bride, who were previously translated (1 Thess. 3:13 and Jude 14). This coming will not be in humility, as the first coming was, but attended with glory and majesty (Matt. 24:30). He will call before Him at this time the living nations o f the world (Matt. 25 :32). They shall be judged according to their treatment of His people, the Jews (Matt. 25 :40). Satan will be bound (Rev. 20 :3 ), and Jesus shall reign here on the earth personally for 1,000 years, and His Bride shall reign with Him (Rev. 20 :4 ). During this personal reign of Jésus, the wicked dead will remain undisturbed in their graves (Rev. 20 :5 ), awaiting the White Throne Judgment, which is only -for the wicked dead (Rev. 20:11-15). T he F inal S cenes At the end of the 1,000 years’ reign of Jesus, called the Millennium, Satan is loosed and given an opportunity again to tempt the nations (Rev. 20 :7 ). T o our surprise he succeeds to an astounding degree, even after 1,000 years of personal reign o f Jesus. With conditions almost idealistic some still wish to follow Satan. Well, this prophetic telescope shows us what the end of this rebellion will be. The human participants are to be devoured with fire (Rev. 20 :9 ), and Satan is to be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone (Rev. 20:10). Then, according to this blessed Book, God will set up the great white throne, and the dead who died without faith in Jesus, including undoubtedly those whose bodies were devoured by fire in Rev. 20:9, are judged, and as a result, cast into the lake o f fire (Rev. 20:15). Just another glimpse through this wonderful teles cope, for here at the end is something which greatly con cerns the saints of the Lord, His church. You have often repeated John 14:2,. “ In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare â place for you.” Jesus went to the skies to prepare a place for those who through faith accept Him. W e have chosen to call that place heaven. It is not yet prepared or Jesus would return for us according to His
promise (John 14:3). None of our loved ones who have fallen asleep are: in heaven. Heaven is not yet ready for its occupants. Our beloved ones depart and be with the Lord as Paul says (Phil. 1 :23), but the place whither they go is not our final abode. The word translated “ paradise” (Luke 23 :43), means a park just outside the city. Here our loved ones, in the presence o f Jesus, wait the completion o f our eternal home. In Rev. 21:2, we get our first glimpse o f our future abiding place. It has been made ready in heaven, and it now descends fully prepared from heaven. A careful study of this twenty-first chapter of Revelation will reveal that this New Jerusalem does not come to the earth. It is separate and alone. This place, called the Holy City and the New Jerusalem, so beautifully described by John, will be the home of the Bride. It will be the gift of the Bridegroom to his espqused. . Behold, the day is fast approaching when the con summation of fishis glorious program will be at hand.' Are you ready for such a consummation? Do you look for ward to the coming-of the Lord longingly, or does the sug gestion of its approach arouse fear within your soul ? The faithful wife impatiently awaits her husband’s arrival' but the unfaithful wife fears his approach. If we are blameless, without rebuke in the midst of this crooked and perverse generation, then we shall rejoice as we see “that day” approaching. If we are disloyal to Him our Head, and are enjoying unholy alliances with the world, we may well look with apprehension toward His return. Back to the Blessed Book Professor Henry Drummond, we are told, on his deathbed, said to Sir William Dawson, the Christian geol ogist :— “ I am going away back to the Book, to believe it and receive it, as I did at the first. I can live no longer on uncertainties.' I am going back to the faith of the Word o f Cod.” .
Modem Lepers of Palestine What a type o f the sinner— incurably wicked—without God, without Christ, without hope! Eternally ostracized. “ And there c,ame a leper to Christ, be seeching him and kneeling down to him arid saying unto him, ‘I f thou wilt thou const make me clean.’ And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand and touched him and. said unto him, ‘I wül; be thou clean.’ And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him and he was cleansed.”
