Kenneth M. Woolley is the founder of Extra Space Storage, served as Chairman and CEO from its formation through March 2009, and also Chief Investment Officer. Mr.Woolley resigned from his position as Chairman and CEO of the Company effective April 1, 2009, during which time he remained as a director. Mr. Woolley has been involved in the self-storage industry since 1977. He has been directly responsible for developing over 165 properties and acquiring over 625 self-storage properties throughout the United States. Early in his career he was a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. From 1979 to 1998, he was an Associate Professor, and later an Adjunct Associate Professor of Business Administration at BrighamYoung University, where he taught undergraduate and MBA classes in Corporate Strategy and Real Estate. Mr. Woolley has also developed more than 13,000 apartment units through his Las Vegas entity, Nevada West Partners. He is also a partner in New York based Gaia Real Estate, which owns 16,500 apartment units and 600,000 square feet of office space. He has also founded several companies in the retail, electronics, food manufacturing and natural resources industries. Mr. Woolley currently serves as a trustee and a member of the compensation committee of American Homes 4 Rent. Mr. Woolley holds a B.A. in physics from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A. and Ph.D. in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. John Maxfield is the founder and Principal of Maxfield Construction and Development. Driven by a passion for building, John’s impressive 20- year history of building luxury ocean front and resort homes, as well as complex commercial developments span from Park City, Utah to Maui, Hawaii. John’s experience in project development ranges from large resort

condominium and commercial developments to high-end single-family homes. He coordinates all aspects of development from land planning, architectural design and permitting. As a licensed general contractor, John is constantly looking for new and innovative products and methods to deliver the highest quality in luxury and efficiency. John is at his best when interacting with people, his experience, dedication and personal integrity allow clients and colleagues to feel at ease knowing their project is being well crafted and properly managed. The result is lifelong friends from around the world. From conception to completion, John is involved in every step of the process. John studied business management at the University of Utah. Brendon MacKay is the founder and Principal of Blue Atlas Homes. Brendon transitioned from designing cars and products to residential design and development. During his 10 years as a designer at General Motors he was the Lead Exterior Designer of the new Chevrolet Colorado mid-size pickup truck (2015 - present) as well as the Lead Exterior Designer of the GMC Sierra full-size pickup truck (2014 - 2018). Before departing General Motors he also helped develop the vehicle architecture for the forth-coming mid- engined Chevrolet Corvette. His experience taking a project from pencil sketch to full-production vehicle in a complex working environment that included working across multiple continents gave him the fortitude and patience to be among the first to take a multi-family development project from the drawing board to approval through the newly formed city of Millcreek, UT. Brendon holds a B.F.A. in Industrial Design from Brigham Young University and a B.F.A. in Automotive Design from the College for Creative Studies.
