Easy Sweet Potato Dog Chews Ingredients: 2 sweet potatoes Directions: Preheat your oven to 250°F (130°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Use a knife or mandoline to cut the sweet potatoes into slices. If your dog is small, slice them into coins. For larger dogs, slice them lengthwise for bigger chews. Make sure the slices are no thinner than ¼ inch, so they turn out chewy, not crispy. Arrange the slices in a single layer on the baking sheets. Bake for 2 ½ to 3 hours, flipping them once halfway through. The slices should shrink and dry out, with some pieces being slightly crispy and others chewy. Let them cool completely, then store in an air-tight container in the fridge for about 3 weeks.
Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Dog Treats Ingredients: 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour 2 large eggs ½ cup canned pumpkin 2 tbsp peanut butter ½ tsp salt ½ tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp water, or more if necessary (optional) Directions: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Combine the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir with a spatula until well combined. Transfer the mixture to a work surface and knead it by hand until the dough starts to come together. If needed, add water 1 teaspoon at a time to make the dough workable, but keep it dry and stiff. Roll the dough to a thickness of ½ inch and cut into ½-inch pieces. Transfer the pieces to a baking sheet. Bake for about 40 minutes or until the treats are golden brown and crunchy. Let them cool completely before serving them to your dog.
