VETERINARY CONFERENCE AUG 5-8 2021 FAIRMONT HOTEL CHICAGO, IL
WELCOME TO
Welcome to VETgirl U! Garret and I are so excited to host you at our second LIVE VETgirl conference.
As you know, this event was supposed to be in 2020, but COVID-life, home schooling, curbside craziness, and pandemic pandemonium prevented that. And we’ll be the first to admit it was a very, very (very) rough year, only to spill into 2021. While we know that you’ve always been able to “see us” from behind your computer screen or smartphone, we TRULY are so excited to see you LIVE, in person, and to reconnect with our veterinary community. We’ve missed you! (If you’re wearing a green ribbon, feel free to hug us.) It’s hard to believe we launched VETgirl 9 years ago. Back in 2012, Garret and I created VETgirl to provide a unique, first- of-its-kind, way of learning. We wanted to provide clinically relevant, practical continuing education (CE) that would have 2-3 takeaway points that would help improve quality of care and save that patient’s life. We grew it from 12 webinars the first year to now providing 150+ webinar hours a year. We’ve offered a few webinars in Spanish, added more “how-to” video content, and started growing our staff in the spring of 2018. We offered our first VETgirl U conference in 2018.
And we couldn’t have done it without you.
We’ve been so blessed to see VETgirl grow over the past few years. Words can’t express how thankful we are for YOU, our most dedicated fans. That’s why we put on VETgirl U – so we can give back, take care of you, and spoil you for the next few days. Learn with our short-sweet, TED-like talks. Relax with yoga in the mornings. Enjoy the kid-free time to learn with our free daycare. Reconnect with your colleagues at the Adler planetarium on Thursday night and the networking gala on Friday night. We’ve got you covered with amazing REI backpacks, HydroFlask water bottles, and free food and drinks. Because you truly deserve it. It’s our way of saying thank you . As you’ve heard, we’re undergoing some exciting, global expansion with Mars Veterinary Health, which will allow us to provide unprecedented opportunities, support, and improve access to high quality education for all veterinary professionals. Partnering with Mars Veterinary Health was an important, strategic move that we chose as we really wanted to raise the level of education and expand our community globally. It’ll allow us to provide even more high quality, clinically relevant, practical, unbiased, and convenient education with a better user experience – better technology, translation into different languages, closed captioning, and transcriptions to make the learning experience that much better! Here’s the best news. Garret and I will still be behind the wheel, driving the VETgirl bus. We are not going anywhere! We’ll continue to make sure that you get the best CE content out there. What we’re planning? To provide even more CE to help elevate the level of veterinary care across the globe . We’re all in. We’re taking it to the next level, so please enjoy the ride. We’re committed to even more content. Even more videos. Even more LIVE learning opportunities – including an annual VETgirl U conference, with the next one being in Minneapolis, August 26-28, 2022 (so you can experience the amazing “Great Minnesota Get-together” State Fair while you’re here too. Seriously, it’s a mind-blowing, incredible experience). Don’t worry – we’ll still keep our amazing conferences boutique and spoil the daylights out of you. We’ll still keep it small. So, save the date! We also could not have put this conference on without the generous support of our sponsors and exhibitors. Providing all this at VETgirl U is impossible without them. Please stop by their booths and thank them. (Or if they have a green ribbon, hug them or show your support!).
Thank you for joining us at VETgirl U. Thank you for all that you do. Words can’t express it well enough, but we truly love all of you.
Now, relax, have an amazing experience with us, and let the learning begin!
Deepest regards,
Justine, Garret, and the VETgirl team
