PARTNERING WITH PARENTS
A t Legacy, the commitment to individualized college and career readiness has been strengthened with the addition of a second school counselor. Mrs. Lunderby and Mrs. Key now work with half of the high school student population—126 students each—compared to the state average of 544 students per school counselor, according to the American School Counselor Association. The smaller caseload is an incredible asset for students and parents. From classroom presentations and online resources to one-on-one meetings with students and parents starting in 10 th grade, Mrs. Lunderby and Mrs. Key are available for any question, phone call, or email. A current senior at Legacy attests to this support, saying, “It is helpful to have people to go to with specific questions about college and the college planning process.” Legacy maps out the entire college and career journey so that parents and students feel supported as they navigate and discern what God’s call on their life might be in their next stage after graduation.
