1. Lead the delivery of the University’s capital programme to provide developments matched to the needs of the university and its stakeholders and that are completed within the agreed budgets and timescales. This will include delivery for all of the University’s subsidiary companies. 2. Continually develop, lead and implement our project delivery model to be used on all projects ensuring that projects are reviewed at appropriate gateways. This process will ensure that the projects adhere to common standards and principles appropriate to scale and that the delivered project fully meets the agreed objectives and project brief. 3. Working with the Group Director of Estate Development to take leadership of estates strategy development and estate masterplanning. Leading on the early strategic planning of major projects including elements such as business case development, masterplanning, feasibility and option appraisal and strategic brief development. 4. Leadership and management of in-house Estate Development team members including Senior Project Manager, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Building Services Engineers. 5. Work closely with the Cost and Programme Manager,with the development and implementation of a robust management information system to ensure that project finances and programmes are actively monitored and reported. This process should be integrated with Agresso the finance system and Planon the estates system both of which have been newly installed. 6. Foster a culture of minimising change during project delivery and ensure that change control is operated and actively managed on all projects. 7. Be accountable for the successful delivery of the major projects from inception to completion. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

8. Have oversight of all financial and programme aspects of project/ programme delivery – budgeting, forecasting, cost control and monthly reporting. 9. With support from Procurement, lead the strategy for the procurement of consultants and contractors for all activities at both strategic and project levels. Ensure that appropriate contractual appointments are in place and ensure compliance with EU and University procurement regulations. 10. Effectively manage all consultants, contractors and suppliers ensuring that they carry out all of the duties that they have been contracted to provide. 11. In conjunction with Estates BIM Manager ensure that all projects are designed in a BIM level 2 environment and that the final Operation and Main- tenace Documention is coordinated with this. Work with the BIM Manager and Assistant Director Operations and Maintenance to develop and implement the required protocols. 12. In conjunction with Estates Softlandings Championensure the development and implementation of a full BSIRIA softlandings approach with post project evaluation. Ensure that the handover of projects to the users and Operations and Maintenance is carefully planned and fully meets their requirements. 13. For major programmes/project carry out the role of Programme/Project lead and be fully responsible for delivery of successful delivery. 14. With support from team members and consultants identify and then lead the development and implementation of standard specification and contact documents appropriate to the major projects. 15.Ensure that the highest levels of safety and risk management are embedded in projects.
