Bruner Angus Ranch - Annual Angus Bull Sale [2/16/25]

Welcome Cattlemen and Cattlewomen! It is a pleasure to welcome you to our family’s 23rd Annual Production Sale, annually held the third Sunday in February. It is be- cause of great repeat buyers and the excellent new customers we have met along the way that we can present this offering to you. We want to personally thank all of you and we are privileged to have the opportunity to be your trusted seed stock supplier. This year’s offering consists of 71 yearling bulls, 42 2-year-old bulls, and 41 registered bred heifers. The consigned commercial female group this year will consist of: 29 commercial Angus replacement heifers from the Dockter-Jensen Ranch in Denhoff, ND, 32 F1 black baldy replacement heifers from Ryan and Stacy Bruner of Drake, ND, 17 F1 black baldy replacement heifers and 16 F1 black baldy bred heifers from Luke and Jacy Peterson of Kief, ND, 12 commercial bred Angus heifers from Chris and Annie Arnold of Denhoff, ND, 10 commercial bred Angus heifers from Mike and Jim Rott of Anamoose, ND, 18 commercial bred An- gus Heifers from Reimche Land & Cattle of Martin, ND, and 12 registered and commercial Angus bred heifers from Bryan and Sonya Miller of Bismarck, ND. This will be the largest and most diversified offering to date with 300+ head that is sure to satisfy your needs! The yearling bulls were weaned September 10th and have been developed on a ration of barley hay, alfalfa hay, triticale hay, corn silage, rolled corn, and a protein/mineral pellet specifically designed for bull development. This ration is balanced at a NEg of .46 Mcal/lb. and has produced a 3.4 lb. average daily gain since weaning on this set of yearling bulls. After sale day, the energy will be dropped further and they will be moved to a larger pen for more exercise and to create pen space for us during calving. These bulls will be in good breeding shape when they are delivered. This group of yearling bulls are all born in a 2-week period. This tight age group allows for an easy evaluation for you, the buyer. As a seedstock or commercial seller, the goal is always to produce the most even/consistent set of animals in the highest volume possible. We have certainly accomplished that in this sale. We are very proud of this set of bulls and we hope you feel the same. The 2-year-old bulls this year are big, stout, mature bulls ready to work. Raising 2-year-old bulls is a great test to see how our breeding decisions are benefiting one step further. The power, performance, look, and genetic potential they have exhibited to this point is showing the true benefits of the critical pressure in selection we continue to put on our cowherd. Our 2-year-old bulls come either from our AI/ET program or our top herd bulls. The AI/ET bulls in this group are bred to calve the end of April. These bulls are fed a modest growing ration their first winter off the cow, then pastured on grass together as a group, and then return home in the fall. They are fed the same ration as our yearling bulls the winter preceding the sale. These age-advantage bulls have never been offered for sale, are bred, born, and developed specifically for this sale. They will give you extra reliability and increased cow coverage. All bulls and registered heifers have genomic enhanced EPD’s and are parent verified. This provides the most up-to-date EPD’s, $Values, and also a guaranteed pedigree. The EPD’s in the catalog are as of the 1/3/25 update to the AAA database. We will pro- vide a supplement sheet sale day with scrotal measurements, ADG and ADJ Yearling Weights. The registered bred heifers have been ultra-sounded and sexed with complete calving information in the catalog. These heifers were out on corn stalks until December 15th when they were sorted off for clipping, and treated just as the ones we plan to calve out ourselves. Like the 2-year-old bulls, this is another phase where we can see the benefits of our breeding decisions. This is a set of heifers anyone would be proud of! These heifers will have been poured with Clean-Up II and be up-to-date on their pre-calv- ing Scour Boss and breeding vaccinations before the sale. Again this year, the sale will be broadcast live online through DVAuction. The individual videos of each lot will be available ap- proximately 2 weeks before the sale. If your schedule does not allow you to be with us sale day, we hope that this option can help out. If you have any questions with this please let us know.

The cattle are available for viewing anytime, or join us at our Pre- Sale Open House at the ranch February 8th from noon to 5 pm and receive $100 sale day credit! If you have questions please do not hesitate to call. We look forward to seeing you at the sale!
