Eve Spencer We have exciting news! Our very own Eve Spencer, Florida Business Unit Manager, is the newly appointed Building Officials Association of Florida President! Bureau Veritas is proud of Eve Spencer’s election to BOAF President, and we look forward to seeing what she will accomplish during her term. This is an amazing recognition of her hard work and dedication as a Florida Building Official.

Daryl Willey In Memoriam: Daryl Willey - A Pillar of Building Safety and Community Service Today, we remember Daryl Willey, a true professional who dedicated over four decades to ensuring public safety through exceptional building code expertise. As a Building Official at Bureau Veritas and previously with the City of Modesto, Daryl’s impact extended far beyond inspections—he was a mentor, educator, and visionary leader in the building safety community. Daryl brings a distinguished career spanning over 30 years of dedicated service in municipal building safety, complemented by significant leadership and educational contributions to the field. As Past President of the California Building Officials (CALBO), he has shaped industry standards and practices at the state level. His commitment to professional development is evidenced by his tenure as Adjunct Professor at Modesto Junior College from 1977 to 2010, where he mentored emerging professionals in building safety disciplines. Daryl’s expertise and leadership have been formally recognized through the Building Official of the Year award, and he has been instrumental in overseeing complex, high-profile projects including Amazon and Restoration Hardware facilities, demonstrating his capability to manage sophisticated regulatory and operational challenges. Daryl’s legacy reminds us that our work is about more than structures—it’s about protecting communities and inspiring future professionals.
