Central South Magazine - February.pdf

A word or two from the Editor

Welcome to the latest edition of our quarterly news round-up.

Our year has got off to a great start with major events in our calendar including the Central South Food and Drink Trade EXPO and a major reception at the House of Commons with our Growing Together Alliance partners. We asked our Action Group chairs to talk about their hopes for what 2026 might bring and share the strategic path they are formulating. In this edition you will also see we are unveiling the first of a regular run of features regarding devolution and local government reorganization. Thanks so much to Megan Carter, Regional Director at AtkinsRéalis for helping us to navigate the current landscape. Hot from Arup’s move from Winchester to Southampton, Simon Gill, Southampton Office Leader, shares his thoughts on the power of partnership and the ‘ripple effect’ in our regular In My View Column. (BTW if you have a subject you would like to talk about in this publication, please contact kate@businesssouth.org). And finally, we hope you like our front cover image of acclaimed British artist Emma Richardson. Her exhibition is the first to take place as Southampton City Art Gallery re-opens following a major refurbishment. Find out more here.
