UPM Raflatac has completed its acquisition of the assets of Irving, Texas-based Southwest Label Stock. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the pur- chase price or other transaction details. This acquisition will allow UPM Raflatac to expand its reach in the Texas and the Southwestern U.S. label markets. UPM Raflatac will also continue and expand South- west Label Stock’s small roll service. With this ser- vice, UPM Raf latac customer s will be able to purchase single rolls of laminate trimless at 2,500 feet, shipped in boxes throughout North America. In other news, UPM Raflatac has joined the Sustain- able Packaging Coalition (SPC). SPC is a membership- based collaborative led by an independent non-profit that believes in the power of industry to make pack- aging more sustainable. UPM Raflatac joins more than 200 member companies, government officials and academic institutions.
