Harriet Tubman visited from the past and led witnesses to her compelling storytelling performance on a harrowing, yet enlightening, journey through the Underground Railroad. Performer and teacher Jim Barnoff conducted a beginning ukulele workshop in which participants learned basic chords and experienced the joy of making music together. At this week’s Dog Tales, Wookie the therapy cat joined canine companions to encourage reading. Preschool Preppers explored the letters S and T with sunshine rhymes, paper trees, and insect gardens. In Homeschool Hangout, we learned about the law of inertia with car crash dummies and vehicle safety systems by crashing wooden cars carrying raw eggs. After the splatter fest, we collaborated on our engineering design processes to build safety systems to protect our egg passengers and slow down the cars to reduce impact. The results were egg-cellent!
