To all members of Regnum Christi,
With profound gratitude to God and with a heart full of hope, we celebrate the anniversary of the day on which the Lord founded the Legionaries of Christ and, together with it and through it, Regnum Christi. This date is a reminder of God’s providence in bringing to life this charism that he wanted to give to his Church, announcing his merciful love to all, leading us to the redemptive encounter with Christ and inviting us to become his apostles in the world with passionate zeal (2 Cor 5:14) created through the personal experience of the love of Jesus Christ. Message from our RC Director
Dear Regnum Christi Family in Christ,
Happy New Year and Welcome to the Jubilee of 2025 Pilgrims of HOPE!
As we embark on this new year, we are invited into a journey of hope and reflection. Just as Christmas is a season for pondering and quiet awe, so too is this Jubilee year a time to pause, reflect, and embrace the mystery of faith. In the stillness of winter, let us learn from Mary’s example of trust and docility, receiving God’s gifts with open hearts and trusting that He will provide what we need along the way. May this year be filled with many moments of pondering, prayer, and hope as we walk together as Pilgrims of HOPE, encouraging and inviting others closer to our Lord.
Wishing you a blessed and joyful New Year!
Sincerely in Christ,

Join the Daily Evening Rosary via Zoom
Every evening at 8:15 p.m. , members of our Regnum Christi Calgary locality come together in prayer through a daily Zoom Rosary. This beautiful tradition began several years ago as a way to pray for the repose of the soul of Bridgette Grady, a beloved Clear Water Academy mom who passed away from cancer at a young age. Over time, it has grown into a ministry of intercession for all those battling cancer. The Rosary is prayed faithfully 365 days a year, offering a moment of unity, reflection, and support for those in need. All are welcome to join and be part of this prayerful community.

The Virtue & Patron Saints Party on January 15, 2025, was a beautiful evening at the Calgary Golf & Country Club, where our RC ladies and guests embraced a special gift from the Lord—a virtue to carry throughout the year. Michelle Hoffman thoughtfully curated 24 virtues, each paired with a corresponding saint, all centered around the theme "Hope in" (e.g., Hope in Purity of Heart). Fr. Janick Caouette, LC shared a reflection on Hope. He asked to keep the Los Angeles LC community in our prayers as they face the challenges of ongoing fires. We extend our deepest gratitude to our RC Women’s Section Director, Eileen Coady, and her dedicated team for organizing such a wonderful night. This cherished annual tradition fills our hearts with joy, and we will be keeping each of you in our prayers during this Jubilee of Hope. God Bless! Virtue & Patron Saint Party

“ Pray my children. God will answer before long. My Son lets Himself be moved.” Our Lady of Pontmain
The Feast Day of Our Lady of Hope is January 17th
Most gracious Virgin Mary, by your apparition at Pontmain, you remind us of the importance of prayer, you fortified in our hearts the hope and trust in God, and you gave us peace. Listen now with favour to our fervent prayers, so that peace may be restored in our hearts, in our families, in our country and in all nations: Peace, the fruit of justice, truth and charity. Inflame in our souls the wish to live fully our Christian faith, without any compromise, in all circumstances of our life. We were blessed by a visit from Lu Perez, a consecrated woman, who spent time with our RC Mission Corps missionaries, Ana Pau and Narda, and led a Holy Hour for young adults. With 28 attendees, this was our best turnout yet—praise God! Elisa Uribe (section assistant) and Christine Doran (group leader) represented us at the Regnum Christi Convention in Chicago, where they learned valuable insights and frameworks for planning excellent formation opportunities. Their efforts will help deepen our community’s participation in the spirituality and mission of Regnum Christi. Our Discover Regnum Christi series for those discerning their association was a great success! We were excited to welcome four new members at Christ the King, while others continue their formation journey. A heartfelt thank-you to Christine for leading the series and to Elisa and her family for hosting in their home. We are currently looking for rides for our missionaries to and from Okotoks on Monday and Thursday nights until we have our logistics in place. Please message Valerie @ 403-671-1290 if you are able to take a turn! Thank you! The Regnum Christi Young Adults community continues to thrive in spirituality, fellowship, and mission!

Lumen Calgary: A Year Filled with Blessings and Growth!
This past September marked the first anniversary of Lumen Calgary, and what an incredible year it has been!
In October, we hosted a wonderful Marriage Retreat with seven couples. The highlight was a touching Mass and Renewal of Wedding Vows, honoring the sacred bond of matrimony. Our Leadership Breakfast Series resumed, bringing us inspiring messages: In October, we were inspired by Fr. Michael Picard, LC, followed by Fr. Daniel Wilson, LC in November, and Fr. Jerome Lavigne in December. In January 2025, we welcomed Fr. Anthony Sortino, LC. Mark your calendars for the next gathering on February 13! Click HERE to see the upcoming dates. Join us for a morning of inspiration and connection. In a modern-day miracle reminiscent of the loaves and fishes, we were grateful to witness our Lord provide $20,000 for the interior painting of Elizabeth House! It all began with $5,000 from our Calgary members, which was matched by a grant from Lumen International. With $10,000 secured, we collaborated with Roger’s Birdies for Kids, ultimately doubling our total to $20,000. Sean Maxwell and his daughter Pippa embarked on their fifth Father/Daughter Lumen Mission Trip to New Orleans. Additionally, John & Sol Wright and Kent & Kathy Wang proudly represented Calgary at the Lumen Summit in Houston, TX. We are thrilled to announce that plans are already in motion for the 2026 Lumen Summit in Banff! In November, Lumen Calgary proudly supported another beloved Regnum Christi initiative by sponsoring and operating the bar at the Captivenia Royal Banquet, which helped raise essential funds for this remarkable mission.
In December, Lumen Calgary hosted the annual Elizabeth House Christmas Party. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
Lastly, we’re excited to unveil our newly launched website! Visit lumencalgary.ca to stay connected and learn more about our mission.

The world around us is changing rapidly, and it can feel overwhelming to navigate the cultural currents that seem to drift further from truth and love. Many of us wrestle with how to respond to issues like transgenderism, MAID, and the growing normalization of sin—all while remaining faithful to our call to evangelize with both courage and compassion. Whether you’ve felt paralyzed by fear of “hate speech” or simply unsure of where to begin, this event will give you the confidence to speak up and be the light our world desperately needs. We invite you to join us for a powerful and practical evening with Fr. Kenneth LeBlanc, LC. Together, we’ll explore how to lovingly and confidently share our faith in a culture that so often misunderstands it.

CAPTIVENIA GIRLS’ CAMP An Incredible Season of Blessings!
The Lord has truly shown His abundance and faithfulness this summer!
Captivenia welcomed 52 young ladies to the Bellesera Leadership Program, followed by 47 girls joining the Festival of Maidens. With 99 participants, supported by 20 young adults directing activities, 25 moms and women assisting, 2 Legionary priests (Fr. Anthony Sortino and Fr. Reuden Nuxoll), 2 consecrated women (Mary Nuxoll and Kathleen Almon), and 16-day volunteers, the realm flourished with 164 individuals serving, loving, and learning about our great and Holy King. This year, we faced the daunting challenge of completing camp set-up in just 2 days—a task that typically takes 6! Thanks to the incredible efforts of Lumen and the Regnum Christi Men (and a few unsuspecting friends), “Manly Monday” became legendary, accomplishing in a single day what felt like it might take decades (well, almost).
It was a summer filled with profound grace:
Teenagers arguing for more prayer time. Ten-year-olds recognize the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Countless confessions, young adults in spiritual direction, and team members growing together as a community Mothers bear witness to their faith through meditations and acts of love for the camp.
God’s blessings were abundant, and we are humbled to have been part of His work.

SUPPORT ARCĀTHEOS BOYS’ CAMP Help Offset the Costs of Arcātheos Summer Camp! We fundraise to help ensure boys are not excluded based on their financial situation. To that end, the registration fee the boys pay only covers part of the actual costs of attending the camp. Arcātheos is considered to be a specialized activity camp, which would be cost- restrictive without the aid of sponsors. We are very grateful to those who have supported this camp through their financial donations, the use of resources, and the prayers offered. Our hope is to keep the registration costs as low as possible, without sacrificing the attention to detail that makes this camp what it is.
