ABOUT OUR HEADLINER Altered Five Blues B and

(Altered Five Blues Band cont.) In 2019, Ten Thousand Watts reached #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart, hit #1 on both the iTunes and Amazon blues charts, while "Great Minds Drink Alike" captured first place in the blues category of the International Songwriting Competition. All band members contribute as a songwriting team to be reckoned with. Memorable, incisive lyrics run the gamut from slyly suggestive ("Ten Thousand Watts") to blues history tributes ("Three Forks") and inventive contemporary themes (“Urgent Care,” “Back Button”). Altered Five have consistently checked all the boxes, making lasting, deeply expressive original blues for the mind and body. Up front and leading the big blues train, Taylor exhorts and cajoles while carrying the weight of the lyrical content. Neither imitating nor hiding his debt to the legendary blues singers of the past, he commands deserved attention on his own. Schroedl propels, embellishes, and adds palpable power through his varied rhythm accompaniment and riveting guitar solos. While inspired by, but not tethered to the kings and titans of blues guitar, he has found his own estimable path to personal expression always at the service of the song. The muscular yet limber rhythm section of bassist Mark Solveson and drummer Alan Arber lock into the full range of blues grooves from classic slow Chicago drag ("Holding on With One Hand") and romping Texas shuffles ("Mint Condition") to soulful R&B worthy of Stax Records ("Gonna Lose My Lady"). In addition, returning keyboardist Steve Huebler always provides a rich pad of lush harmony along with his own and soaring solos. Whether live or on record, Altered Five performs seamlessly as a powerhouse entity encompassing the timeless blues virtues of passion and unwavering commitment funneled through technical excellence. —Dave Rubin 2005 Keeping the Blues Alive Award Recipient Photo by Luke Schroedl Website: www.alteredfive.com

Altered Five smokes, smolders and burns like a swig of good whiskey. The hip Milwaukee quintet is known for its strong brew of tough, original blues and hard-hitting live shows. Blues Blast raves that barrel-chested front man Jeff Taylor possesses a “smooth, warm- toned voice as monumental and undeniable as Howlin’ Wolf with the finish and flourish of B.B. King.” Downbeat declares stealth guitarist Jeff Schroedl “reaches the high bar of mixed invention and fluidity.” Fueled by a rhythm section laying down the deepest grooves this side of the MGs, the five blues blasters hit the ground running 20 years ago and show no sign of easing up. Their sixth studio album, Holler If You Hear Me, debuted at #3 on the Billboard Blues Chart and received three Blues Music Award nominations, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year. The new record kicks hard like the three award-winning records preceding it. Cryin’ Mercy nabbed “Best Self-Released Album” at the International Blues Challenge in 2015. Charmed & Dangerous garnered "Song of the Year" at the Independent Music Awards and Wisconsin Music Awards in 2018. Guitar World magazine called the title track a “menacing, swampy blues" and it was in regular rotation on SiriusXM’s Bluesville in addition to many other programs and playlists. PRE-SHOW JAM 3 : 15 PM Deej SG & Co.

A dynamic band spanning styles from roots to contemporary blues, this driving 3-piece band is sure to scratch your blues itch. The band is fronted by the combo of musical power houses guitarist and vocalist Dave 'Fish' Bottom, Steve Kaulback on drums and vocals and bassist Dr. Dan DuBourdieu . Dave Bottom – Guitar and Vocals

Dave picked up his first guitar from a dime store and started teaching himself to play. A ft er flir ti ng with pop music Dave was introduced to blues via the famed Bri ti sh Invasion. That influence underlies the bluesy soloing that Dave brings to his playing; feisty blues steeped in tradi ti onal idioms with modern aggression. Dave has performed with LA East, St Amand, Blue Sky Project, Blues Tonight, Maxwell Street and the Voodoo Clowns. Dave is a member of the Maine Blues Hall of Fame.

Steve Kaulback – Drums and Vocals The son of a Navy Commander, Steve started his musical journey in Texas in 1963 singing and drumming. After hearing Albert King’ Live Wire/Blues Power album he knew he was hooked for life. His bands have included: Cottonmouth Blues Band, Arlo West and the LA Bluesmen, The Pinecasters, Juke Joint Devils, Continental Shakedown, Mike Hayward and the Blue Lions, Dave Mello Trio, and the Voodoo Clowns. Steve is a member of the Maine Blues Hall of Fame and is recognized by the Maine Blues Heritage Founda ti on Museum. Dan DuBourdieu – Bass and Vocals

Deej SG (aka. Dave Lowe) has fronted several bands through-out his lifetime and spent over 15 years playing drums before beginning l ead guitar in 2010 at the age of 50. Deej has always had an “artist/creative” streak which now has helped form his unique and emotional "Deejified" style that was developed without the outside influence of learning other players songs or styles. And it's Guaranteed 100% Certified Organic & Gluten Free! Deej also feels it is important to share his message, particularly with the “older” crowd, that “It’s NEVER too late to do what you love!” H is message and example has inspired dozens of people to pick up a guitar, some already into their 80's.!! “For me, improvisation is the most honest form of playing because I can express through my instrument exactly what I'm feeling at that very moment in time. That is where you get to truly feel my heart and soul unfiltered! And nobody should ever feel like it's too late to get started on their own journey! ”-Deej SG This year's "& Co." guests include the Maine band "Voodoo Clowns" as well as guitarist Richard Corson. (See "& Co." next pg.) Follow Deej SG on Facebook: www.facebook.com/DeejInspirations www.DeejSG.com Page 12

While Dan has played bassoon in symphonic orchestras, his bass playing earned his reputation as the “People’s Bassist”. Dan climbed to the top in Minneapolis blues scene with the Mudsharks back in 1980s before moving to the east coast to continue the blues journey playing with the sidemen of the sidemen to the stars on longtime stints with Tommy Dee, Mike Hayward, Andy Schoenfeld. Dan has helped organize and run longtime music festivals including Woodstick and the York County Blues Festival.
