Coup D’Chœur chante Noël
autres en français, en anglais et le fameux Feliz Navidad en espagnol, interprété avec brio par la petite Charlie Latour. Plusieurs des solistes ont reçu de bruyantes ovations dont Philippe Olivier Lamanque, lors de son interprétation de Misere. La pièce deMariah Carey, All I want for Christmas, a été chantée avec justesse par Camille L. Lafond. Plusieurs enfants des écoles Bouchard et St-Philippe ainsi que plusieurs adultes ont uni leur voix lors du concert. L’église St-Phi- lippe est un endroit formidable pour tenir un spectacle de Noël, puisqu’elle offre une acoustique incomparable à la cinquantaine de choristes prenant place sous la voûte de l’édifice. « Le son voyage tellement bien ici, a commentéMarie-Josée Lafortune, lors de l’entracte. Ça change complètement l’atmos- phère! » De nombreuses décorations avaient été disposées à travers l’église pour l’occasion, ce qui ajoutait encore davantage à l’ambiance céleste.

Plusieurs centaines de personnes s’étaient amassées sur les bancs de l’église St-Phi- lippe afin d’écouter les chants et cantiques des Fêtes dans le cadre du concert de Noël des Productions CoupD’Chœur, le samedi 19 décembre dernier. Fidèles à eux-mêmes, les chanteurs et choristes de la troupe, dirigée par Marie- Josée Lafortune, ont mis toute leur âme dans l’interprétation de nombreux chants tradi- tionnels de Noël. Le talentueux guitariste Pierre Diotte a accompagné la troupe pour plusieurs des morceaux présentés lors de la prestation. Le spectacle, présenté en deux temps, a permis aux spectateurs d’écouter leurs classiques des Fêtes favoris tels que C’est l’hiver , Au Royaume du bonhomme hiver , Joy to the world , 23 décembre ainsi que plusieurs

Une tradition renouvelée Une ancienne tradition sera renouvelée cette année car une célébration du temps des Fêtes aura lieu le soir de la veille de Noël à l’église Saint-Mungo de Cushing située au 661, Route des Outaouais, à l’est de Grenville. Grâce à une subvention provenant du Patrimoine religieux du Québec, et à certains généreux donateurs, l’intérieur de l’église historique a été réparé et restauré, ce qui permettra de faire revivre cette tradition du temps des Fêtes qui a été célébrée pendant près de 180 ans par les résidents de Cushing..
