Green Valley/Sahuarita Volunteer Clearinghouse: Empowering Communities Through Volunteerism
The Green Valley/Sahuarita Volunteer Clearinghouse (GVSVC) stands as a symbol of community-driven efforts led by Executive Director Joyce Finkelstein. This organization has been making a positive impact by connecting enthusiastic volunteers with causes they care about. On November 8, the GVSVC will host the 2023 Volunteer Showcase at the GVR West Center, celebrating fifteen years of fostering volunteerism. Over 50 non-profit and volunteer organizations from Tucson to Nogales will be present, seeking individuals eager to make a difference. The Volunteer Showcase provides a platform to contribute skills, learn new ones, and forge meaningful connections. Whether your passion lies in working with seniors, children, or animals, volunteering offers flexible opportunities, valuing every contribution, no matter how small. For 23 years, the GVSVC has excelled in pairing volunteers with organizations in need. Workshops and training opportunities for Volunteer Managers enhance the effectiveness of volunteer-driven initiatives. The GVSVC is an all-volunteer project supported by compassionate community leaders and organizations, including the Pima Council on Aging, the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation, and the Country Fair White Elephant, through boardsmanship and generous donations and grants.
