Here’s a true performance pedigree wrapped in eye appeal. Study the numbers and you’ll find her ranking in the top 30% for API and top 20% for TI, backed by a paternal outcross through Pendleton—himself a son of the legendary 8543U, one of the most prolific donors in the entire Simmental breed. On the Simbrah side, she stacks even more maternal punch with Smith Satisfies and her dam just happens to be a maternal sister to the great Priceless herself. That combination makes her a ¾ female built for longevity and stayability, the kind of brood cow that keeps a program strong for years to come. And if her pedigree and data don’t catch your eye, her look certainly will. With her red baldy face, balance and brood cow design, she’s a standout on video and continues to change and improve every day since picture day. This is the type of female that blends numbers, pedigree, and presence into one exciting package. Sells open.

Using Indexes to Advance Your Program By Wade Shafer Economic selection indexes were first introduced by Iowa State scientist, Lenoy Hazel, in 1943. Best described as “genetic accounting”, economic indexes blend an animal’s genetic levels along with commodity prices to predict the impact the animal will have on profit when used for breeding. Economic indexes have long been accepted by animal geneticists as the most effective means of making genetic progress for profit and, consequently, have been heavily utilized by the pig, poultry and dairy industries for years. Not surprisingly, the genetic progress made on those species through the use of indexes has been phenomenal--far eclipsing the progress made in beef cattle. By using ASA’s All Purpose and Terminal Indexes, you too can leverage the power of the economic selection index - there is no better tool in the beef industry for making selection decisions!
