As I travel throughout the resort, it is heartening to see many of our snowbirds making their annual journey south. Meanwhile, others eagerly plan their upcoming arrivals, inspired by those already here. Upon entering the front gate, it's evident that our management and staff have been hard at work completing summer projects, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere throughout the resort. We are thrilled to welcome both new owners and renters for another exceptional season filled with activities, sports, and moments of well - deserved relaxation. The Lifestyle Committee and our dedicated lifestyle team, led by Serina, have curated a diverse calendar of events to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy. Entertainment will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, featuring beloved favourites such as Singo, karaoke, live bands, and the ever - popular Friday Night Funnies. Foodservice events, including burger, hot dog, and baked potato nights, will complement our regular social activities. Additionally, a variety of ticketed events and tours are on the agenda, promising endless fun and excitement. Sports enthusiasts can rejoice as Tennis, Pickleball, Golf, and Cornhole groups are already embracing the camaraderie and thrill these activities offer. Meanwhile, our Quilters, Bingo fans, Texas Hold'em, Bridge, Mahjong players, and movie buffs gather regularly to share in their favorite pastimes. Our pools, as always, attract swimmers, floaters, aerobics enthusiasts, and sunbathers, all enjoying the warm water and sunshine. I extend a special thank you to our dedicated volunteers and committee members who tirelessly contribute to making our resort the beloved community it is. It ’ s not just the lush greenery and beautiful flowers that make us a premier destination—it ’ s the wonderful people who bring it all to life. On behalf of your Board of Directors, I wish everyone a fantastic 2024 - 2025 season! David Quick — Board President

DECEMBER 2024
The Safety & Security Committee (SSC) is excited for the start of a new season! This season ’ s goals are to build upon the successes of prior years. Earthquake & disaster preparedness is the highest priority. Key components are ensuring the radios and rescue & first aid equipment are in good working condition, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) remains stable with 30 experienced volunteers, and a simulated emergency drill is conducted. Emergency preparedness education for owners and renters will continue. Newly created red emergency preparedness cards have been put into current owner mail boxes, and will be included in all new owner and renter welcome packets.
Welcome back to the best RV Resort in the Coachella Valley and one of the best in the United States! The A&A team has had a very busy off - season processing permits so work could proceed during the summer and fall months. For the 2023 - 24 season we processed close to 300 permits. As we enter the 2024 - 25 season it is important to remember a few basic rules/guidelines when it comes to making changes and improvements to your lot. Permits are required for all Lot improvements and repairs including, without limitation, the construction, installation, alteration, removal, or remodeling of any walls, privacy screens, trellis fences, landscaping, golf ball screens/ netting, antennas, utility lines, structures, installations, and improvements of any kind. For repairs to lot lights, fifth wheel enclosures and stairs, painting of RVs and for the removal of landscaping materials and hedges, a No Fee Permit will be issued. For all other improvements, you must submit a Permit Application and pay a $25 fee. NO WORK CAN START PRIOR TO A&A COMMITTEE APPROVAL OF YOUR PERMIT. So, if you are considering doing some changes or improvements to your Lot and uncertain about whether it requires a Permit, please contact Julia, our Compliance Officer, for assistance with your Permit application or to request a consultation with members of the A&A Committee. A major focus at ORPS is for owner ’ s lots to be aesthetically pleasing while following specific rules related to your personal space. As Owners I encourage each and every one of us to become familiar with the governing documents which can be found on the ORPS.COM webpage. You can find them under the following tabs – MORE, then HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, then GOVERNING DOCUMENTS. If you need assistance accessing the website, please contact the front office. The committee and I are looking forward to another great season at ORPS. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us. Finally, thanks to everyone for your efforts to keep ORPS the beautiful Resort we all love and enjoy! Steve Farley – A&A Chair
The SSC will also continue to support our security chief and his staff. We believe the security team is doing an excellent job. Efforts to minimize theft and prevent outsider intrusion have been effective. Their focus on customer service while educating and enforcing the resort rules & regulations is no easy task. With numerous new owners and renters there is often a lack of knowledge or misunderstandings of the HOA policies. Let ’ s all share our appreciation to the security staff for their diligence and hard work. Please wave, smile and share a friendly hello when you see them throughout the resort. Security Team Members Fun Facts:
Luis Godinez – 5 ½ yrs at ORPS, works morning shift, hobbies include fishing, cooking, playing sports, and working out at the gym. Bucket list items include a visit to the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Saul Lozano – 3 yrs at ORPS, works morning shift, interests include cooking and playing video games. Bucket list items include watching the Eagles win another Superbowl, experiencing a Texas BBQ and travel outside the USA. Efrain Valenzuela – 1 yr at ORPS, works morning shift, favorite activities include playing sports and video games. Future goals are to have children and travel to Japan.

Welcome to Outdoor Resort Palm Springs! My name is Ryln Hadley, and I ’ m thrilled to join you as the new golf coordinator here at our beautiful par - three course(s). It ’ s an honor to be part of this community, and I look forward to meeting each of you as we continue to grow and enhance the experience. Keep an eye out for exciting events in the near future, including tournaments, clinics, and fun social gatherings designed to bring our members together, and to have fun of course. Whether you ’ re here to work on your short game or enjoy a relaxing day on the course, I ’ m here to ensure you have the best experience possible.
We may have witnessed a perfectly timed drive this day, maybe some got to tease each other about a shanked tee shot, just maybe you got to see a perfectly executed long putt. Did you get to witness OPENING DAY OF GOLF! This fun - filled day started with the ceremonial drives executed by our new Golf Coordinator Ryln Hadley, President David Quick, Kris McGee Social Coordinator, Ed Vitrano, General Manager, and Freddie Salazar Golf Course Landscape, driving over the pond to the number one green. They all got across with exceptional drives. Afterwards the real excitement started, and we went off to our assigned tee box for a fun fill day of golf and friends. This long - awaited Opening Day of Golf event always brings us together, strengthening our bond here at ORPS, it gives us the chance to engage in meaningful conversation all the while respecting each other as we play.
Let ’ s make this season one to remember! Ryln Hadley — Golf Coordinator

The first tennis event of the season was held on November 4th. This month's game was Triples. This coed format puts 3 players on each side, and a low compression ball is used. It makes for a very challenging and fun time. Following play, everyone went into La Palma for the fritters, fruit, coffee and juice. The Tennis Committee held its monthly meeting while everyone was at play. Julie recapped their meeting for the players afterward. A drawing was held, and these 6 players got their $6 entry fee back.

DECEMBER 2024
For better or worse, Christmas has become synonymous with giving and receiving gifts. I suppose the tradition began because of the fact that Christmas is all about the giving God ’ s great gift, His Son, Jesus— the gift that came all wrapped up in “ swaddling ” clothes. And, oh, what a gift it was! When you unwrap it, even today, it is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving. What do we find there? In the words of the angel, we find the antidote to all our fears, “ fear not ”; we find a promise of joy, “ I bring you good tidings that will cause great joy for all the people ”; we find the possibility of peace, “ and on Earth peace on whom His favor rests ”; and we find best of all, freedom from our sins, “ today a Savior has been born to you. ” “ You shall call his name Jesus because He shall save his people from their sins. ” No wonder we exchange gifts at Christmas, for there, that first Christmas we received the greatest gift of all. Join us this Christmas season at ORPS Chapel where everyone is welcome. December Schedule: • December 8th — Walle Larssen — a brilliant saxophonist with a story. • December 15th — Paul Cassidy • December 22nd — Christmas Carols and a Devotional • December 24th — Christmas Eve Service • December 29th — Mark Williams — a Frequent Guest at our Chapel
Cornhole season has started with play on Sundays at 2:00 PM, featuring 2 tournaments: one for beginners (PPR below 3.8) and one for experienced players. Check your PPR in the Scoreholio app, and download it if you haven't done so. Help with signing up will be available.
Cornhole is also on Wednesdays at 3:00 PM, with a $10 buy - in for the experienced bracket. Cash payouts for the top three teams and part of the buy - in will support club expenses.
Finally, there is also Cornhole on Fridays at 2:00 PM for Practice & Play.

DECEMBER 2024
Welcome back ORPS Health and Fitness Enthusiasts, “ New ” is the theme, new committee members and new fitness equipment! Let me start by introducing myself and our committee members. My name is Cindy Rose and I will be your new Health & Fitness Chair. We bought at ORPS in 2019. My partner Jill was newly retired and I was working full time driving back and forth on weekends and often made it during weekdays to enjoy concerts and participate in as many activities as I could. Recently, after 34 years “ in the trenches ” of hormonal middle schoolers, I retired from doing what I loved best: teaching physical education. I look forward to serving our fitness community with new ideas and ways to keep us active, safe and healthy. Here are the other members of our team: • Cathy Stockman (treasurer) and her family moved into ORPS in 2018. As a way to give back to her community, she joined our team. She believes that fitness is not just about exercise, but making healthy lifestyle choices, including proper nutrition, adequate rest and stress management. Cathy enjoys family walks/hikes, pickleball, football and a good book! • Maureen (Mo) Reininger and her husband John, bought their first ever RV in ORPS in 2018. After many years enjoying all the exercise options and activities at ORPS, she chose to volunteer on the committee that deals with the activity most important to her, Health & Fitness! She hopes to encourage more people to use the fitness center and participate in the many classes, seminars and events the Health & Fitness Committee supports. • Bobbie McDonald (secretary) and her husband Pat became owners in 2019. “ We love it here at ORPS, things we enjoy are our new (and old) friendships, golf, swimming, pickleball, Singo, you name it, we love this place. ” It was a nice fit for Bobbie when she was asked to be a part of the H & F committee. She is passionate about keeping us all moving to stay healthy. “ The gym is such a great place to start and meet new people ”.
Hopefully, you were able to come out to our Open House. Not only did we showcase our new equipment, we want to encourage people to use the gym safely and not be afraid to ask for help when trying out something new. Our Fitness Center came together because there were reserved funds in the budget for our gym. The equipment money was to be released on a 3 year plan. Phase 1 was the FreeMotion Cardio machines: treadmills, elliptical, stationary/recumbent bikes, and a fantastic rowing machine. This summer, it was decided that phase 2 and 3 would be combined to make available the remaining strength equipment a year sooner. There will be a few other pieces of equipment that we are raising funds for this year. We are getting “ more plates for the weights ” and a few other recommended pieces. To accomplish this, we will have several fun - filled fundraising events: Silent Disco and a Pickle Golf Tournament in January (more information to follow). Our goal is to bring smiles and laughs as we raise funds and you participate in something new. We are going to do our traditional “ Pathway to ORPS Fitness ” brick sales as well. It takes a village and we want to work together and be the voice for our fitness community. Speaking of working together, we all need to keep the machines working efficiently and effectively by taking care of our gym and each other. Disinfectant wipes are hanging in dispensers to wipe down your equipment. Thank you to those of you who bring your own towel and are great at cleaning up after yourself. There are microfiber towels/ windex to clean machines and Spray way Glass cleaner (no ammonia) to wipe off fingerprints that grease up the screens (remember to spray the cloth first, then wipe down). Conveniently, we are placing a basket for dirty cleaning cloths, so we can put out fresh ones more often. We are behind those people who are there to keep us healthy, strong and fit. There are many different avenues and we hope you will want to become a part of our Health and Fitness community. We have “ interest forms ”, and we are looking to expand our team. Please remember that the committee members are all volunteers trying to improve the gym for all of us.
Serving you, Cindy Rose — Health & Fitness Chair

The quilting and sewing group is back in full force with over 55 members. Quilting and sewing is a way to express ourselves through our craft. People are excited to see and receive the things we create, even if they don ’ t always understand how much time, materials and love were poured into the making. One important thing is that our quilts will outlive us by generations. Each year we create beautiful quilts to be raffled off. The ORPS Quilting and Sewing Group has adopted the Coachella Valley ’ s only domestic violence shelter as a focused charity. This season the Quilters and Sewers will be hosting a Quilt Show and Tea on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, in the ES Ballroom at which time these quilts will be raffled off. Your support by purchasing raffle tickets helps us purchase the materials needed to make these quilts. Due to the generosity of the ORPS community we have been able to send the Shelter From the Storm as much as $10,000 a season. Way to go ORPS!! Please come by the West Room to purchase tickets or watch for a pop - up sales table at ORPS events. Ticket prices are $5 each or five (5) tickets for $20.

Our featured sewer this month is our past president and current ‘ Fun Committee ’ chair, Holly Aschenbrenner. Holly and her husband Cliff are from Cristina Lake, B.C. In 2014 Holly and Cliff attended a Wind - up party held in the ES Ballroom by the Pickleball group at which time was taking place at Second Street Park. They had never seen anything like ORPS and immediately bought a lot after falling in love with the resort. Holly was an active pickle baller here in ORPS until breaking her hand and tearing her meniscus. Holly ’ s mom was an avid quilter but Holly didn ’ t start quilting until 2012. Since then she has created some amazing work, winning the best in show at last seasons quilt show. Holly and Cliff have 7 grandchildren and 3 grand - dogs! Thanks for all you do for the club Holly.
