Workday at Walsh AUGUST 2025

As we move forward from our successful Workday go-live on March 24, 2025, we want to continue our communication with employees on system updates and enhancements. Since launch, we’ve implemented several improvements based on employee feedback. As a reminder, Workday is now the system of record for learning, payroll, personal information, recruitment, time tracking, and more.

In this issue: • Workday Points of Interest: What You Need to Know • Workday Reminders

Workday Tip: The search bar in Workday is more powerful than it looks! You can quickly access tasks, reports, and people by simply typing keywords and not have to navigate through menus.

Workday Points of Interest: What You Need to Know Advanced Compensation

Advanced Compensation has been developed in Workday to enhance our compensation planning process. While this new functionality will not be used for the upcoming October rate increases, it will be implemented for the March 2026 review cycle. Starting with the March 2026 review cycle, performance reviews will be completed prior to compensation change recommendations to better align evaluations with compensation decisions. Advanced Compensation will strengthen the connection between a non-trade employee’s performance evaluation and their rate increase, creating a more consistent and transparent process. Additionally, it will streamline compensation planning by providing online access to data, eliminating the need for the previous BGL individual worksheets. More information and training materials on Advanced Compensation will be shared in the coming months. Certified Payroll Reports We’re pleased to announce that Certified Payroll Reports are now available within Workday. We recognize there was a delay in making this important report accessible and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. This report has been a high priority, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data before release. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Certified Payroll Reports, please contact the Corporate Payroll Department for assistance. Fall Performance & Development Reviews We’re excited to announce that the Fall Performance and Development Review cycle is being launched and managed through Workday for the first time! This new process allows for a more streamlined, user-friendly experience for both employees and managers. To help guide you through the steps, a recorded training is available and can be accessed here: Fall Employee Reviews in Workday - Recorded Training.

We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to review the training and familiarize themselves with the new system to ensure a smooth and successful review process.

Jobsite Rates Update During implementation, we experienced a brief hiccup with jobsite-specific pay rates; however, this issue has now been fully resolved. Employees who receive a jobsite-specific rate have been assigned an additional job (position) in Workday that reflects that rate. When entering time on their Workday timesheet, it is important that employees select the correct position associated with the jobsite where the work was performed to ensure accurate payroll processing. Workday Security Workday security remains a key area of focus, and it is something we will continue to evaluate and improve over the coming months. We fully understand that there is a business need for certain roles to access specific employee data in order to support day-to-day operations and decision-making.

As we move forward, our goal is to ensure that Workday access is aligned appropriately with the responsibilities of each position. This means setting up the right level of access based on business needs, while maintaining the integrity and privacy of sensitive data.

Workers’ Compensation Payroll Report The Workers’ Compensation Payroll Report has now been finalized and fully implemented in Workday. This report was not available at the time of our initial go-live, but has since been developed and is now active. Risk Management has resumed distribution of these reports and is back on the regular schedule for sending them out to the jobsites that require them.

Workday Reminders Annual Salaries When processing non-trade salary rate increases, please ensure that the new annual salary is rounded to the nearest hundred dollars. For employees with a jobsite rate, this rounding should apply to their base salary as well as the jobsite pay rate. Direct Deposit We encourage all employees to take advantage of the convenience and security of direct deposit for their paychecks. You can easily set up or update your direct deposit information right within Workday. All non-trade and non-union trades employees are eligible for direct deposit. Some union employees may also be eligible. To confirm if your union employees qualify for direct deposit, please contact your Regional Human Resources Manager. To establish or change your direct deposit instructions, simply:

1. Click on your Profile 2. Select Pay from the menu on the left-hand side 3. Click on Payment Elections at the top of the screen

Direct deposit provides a fast, reliable, and hassle-free way to receive your paycheck, ensuring your funds are available as soon as payday arrives. If you haven’t set up direct deposit yet, we highly recommend doing so to enjoy these benefits!

Also, did you know that most bonus checks are now processed via direct deposit, which allows employees to receive their funds faster and more securely.

Download Workday Mobile Remember Workday is mobile-friendly! It is easy to approve tasks, complete training, enter your time, and so much more right from your mobile device. Employee Data As we continue to integrate Workday into our daily processes, we want to remind all employees to take ownership of their Workday records. Keeping your information accurate ensures proper communication, tax withholding, and payroll processing. Please take a moment to review and update the following:

• Home Contact Information – Verify your address, phone number, and personal email are current. • Tax Withholdings – Review your Federal, State, and Local tax withholdings, as applicable. If anything is incorrect, please update your Tax Elections directly in Workday. • Work Location – Ensure your designated work location in Workday is accurate. This is critical, as it directly impacts payroll tax withholdings. This location is displayed on your profile screen. Internal Job Board Don’t forget to check out internal opportunities in our Jobs Hub! You can visit the Jobs Hubs, by clicking on the Workday Menu Bar and Jobs Hub. Trade and Non-Trade Employees have access to the Jobs Hub.

The Jobs Hub makes it easy to review recently added jobs, or search for specific locations or titles. You can also check up on your application status if you apply internally!

Internal Referrals In the Jobs Hub, you can also refer candidates! Click on My Referrals, the last icon on the page, and then select Refer Candidates to refer your candidate. You can also keep up on the status of the candidates referred from the My Referral Activity Dashboard.

Non-Trade Timesheets Submit and approve timesheets by close of business each Monday for the previous workweek. Timesheets are locked each week during payroll processing from Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. CST to Thursday at 9:00 a.m. CST. During this time, employees cannot edit or submit timesheets. Workday Sign-In Employees with a Walsh email address, please use Single Sign-On (SSO) to access Workday. Your username for logging in is your Walsh email address. For employees who do not have a Walsh email address—such as trade employees—their six-digit employee number serves as their username to sign into Workday.
