Our Solution
The Challenge
A pharmaceutical customer needed boot covers in size small to accommodate the rising number of women joining the company, but their current manufacturer did not offer boot covers in that size. Quest took on this project to design, source, and create a solution that not only accommodated workers who wore size small boot covers but also provide a custom fit solution for almost everyone’s size.
An important part of Quest’s sales process is learning the customers’ application, environment the products are being utilized in, and the challenges the users are facing. We speak with end users, safety, and management to understand the hazard and prescribe a solution. Upon determining the company’s needs for fit and function, Quest redesigned its Traction Boot Cover to add a heel strap that allowed the wearer to create a custom-fitted disposable protection. The heel strap wound around the users’ ankle and calf, providing a snug fit. The snug fit led to decreased slips, trips, and fall. The heel straps provided an additional benefit of keeping protective suit garments secure inside the boot cover.
