Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any live teaching sessions? Typically there are four wbsLive webinars, which are live tutorials, within each module, so you will have the opportunity to engage in live teaching sessions on the programme. This is also a great opportunity for you to network and engage with your peers on the programme, and provides the chance to ask questions and offer support and guidance to one another. Do I have to complete an interview as part of the application process? Applicants for the full MSc qualification will be required to complete an interview as part of the assessment process. This will take the form of a live online interview via MS Teams or Zoom, depending on your preference. The interview is not normally required if you are applying for an individual module. We also run regular online events throughout the year offering hints and tips on how to submit a stand-out application and make the most of your interview.
What is it like studying online? Our bespoke online learning platform, my.WBS, offers an engaging and flexible experience that fits around your schedule. It enables you to have discussions in real time, interact in seminars, test your knowledge, watch session recordings, access teaching materials and interact with your study group. With approximately 11 hours of study per week, you can access the materials from the start of each module and work at your own pace. It is a fantastic way to be able to study and apply your learning directly to your role in order to ensure maximum impact. You’ll also be part of a vibrant online community, connecting with fellow students and taking part in live tutorials – typically four per module – to deepen your learning and knowledge. How many years can I complete the course over? The course is structured so that you can complete the MSc within three years, however, if you wish to advance this, you may study two modules at once and complete within two years. This is something which we are able to discuss with you. Your dedicated Programme team will be able to offer support in terms of the best options to ensure you are still getting the maximum learning experience out of the MSc.

However, applications are also welcomed from candidates who do not have the academic qualifications but possess demonstrable experience of working in banking and financial regulation at a level sufficient with the requirements of the course. What scholarships do you offer? We have scholarship funding available to candidates admitted onto the full MSc, these are worth up to 25%. Scholarships can be applied for right up until the final application deadline for your intake of choice, however WBS scholarships are highly competitive and applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early. Scholarships are awarded on an ongoing basis, so candidates who apply early will have a stronger chance of being successful.
