NATS TRAIL 2-0 IN SECOND ROUND OF PLAYOFFS S P O R T S
ANIL JHALLI anil.jhalli@eap.on.ca
The Rockland Nationals find themselves in a little trouble in their second-round playoffs series against the Navan Grads. After a hard-fought battle in game two of the Nats’ best of seven series against the team from Ottawa’s east end which saw Rockland lose 1-0, the series now shifts back to Navan for a pivotal game three. The Nats trail the series 2-0, and are loo- king to get back in with a win on Wednesday night, April 10, to give them the momentum heading home for game four. On the other hand, a loss would give Navan a stranglehold on the series, with a chance to clinch on the road. Both games in the series thus far have been decided by just one goal. Navan jumped out to a 5-0 lead in game one and the Nats were able to claw back and score four unanswered goals, cutting the Navan lead to 5-4. And it was all Rockland could muster as Navan held on for the one goal win. The Grads then got the best of Rockland in game two, which proved to be more of a defensive battle between the two clubs. Councillors make friendly wager With the Nats besting their first-round opponent, the Renfrew Wolves, in six games

and setting up a second-round matchup against the Navan Grads, the hype in Rockland was palpable.
Playoff hockey excitement even prompted a friendly wager between a local councillor and a City of Ottawa municipal representative as the two clubs battle it out. City of Clarence Rockland Ward 1 Council- lor Kyle Cyr and Ottawa City Councillor Catherine Kitts, who represents the ward of Orleans-South-Navan, have engaged in a
friendly wager as the Nationals and the Grads battle in round two of the CCHL playoffs. If the Grads win, Cyr will have to wear a Navan Grads jersey at a council meeting, and if the Nats win, then Kitts will adorn a Rockland Nationals jersey at a City of Ottawa council meeting.

With the Rockland Nationals and the Navan Grads clashing in round two of the CCHL playoffs, City of Ottawa Councillor Catherine Kitts, left, will wear a Nats jersey if the Grads lose, while City of Clarence Rockland Councillor Kyle Cyr will don a Grads jersey of the Nats lose the series.
