Charo Zapater Pomar Born in Peru – Resident of Lima (Peru) and Florence (Italy)

Charo Zapater Pomar was born in Peru, studied painting in Burton Manor College, Chester, England, engraving in the Escuela de Bellas Artes in San Jordi, Barcelona, and in 1976 graduated with honors in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. In 2003 she traveled to Camerun, Africa, where she investigated ancestral native techniques. Back in Peru, she collaborated with AXIS Arte, an interdisciplinary project of research in applied art and design of the Art Faculty of Pontificia Universidad Católica in Lima (2004 - 2005). During the next two years, she did a specialization in Visual Arts and Multimedia Languages in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Still in Italy, she collaborated with the South African artist William Kendridge in his project Triumph and Laments in Lungotevere, Rome. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries and Museums in Europe and America:PARC, Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Lima, Peru; Este-Arte, Montevideo, Uruguay; Galeria Imaginario, Marbella, Spain; ARTOUR, Korea and Shanghai, China.; Galería Yvonne Sanguineti, Lima, Peru; Fortezza Da Basso, Firenze, Italiy; Galeria Beaumont, The Netherlands.; Euroamericana, Pietra Santa, Italy; Galeria Forum Inter- Art, Roma, Italy’; Peru and at the Bienal intinerante de Arte “ Raices ”, Cuzco, Perú.
