In addition, the OPP recommends repor- ting any suspicious activity and investing in anti-theft devices, such as steering wheel locks, fuel immobilizing switches, alarm systems, or GPS trackers. Police also recommend buying a protec- tor for a vehicle’s diagnostic port, which is usually located under the steering wheel and gives access to the vehicle’s computer systems. The OPP has information pamphlets on theft prevention at its detachment.
The OPP has released a list of tips to protect against auto theft.
