E x c i t i n g t h i n g s are happening in the area of mass communications during these waning hours on God’s time clock of history. Much is heard of satellite communications, the use of the Laser beam. Super power and supra power com puter-operated transmitters are being designed to facilitate the multiplied thousands of broadcast hours pouring from government stations such as the Voice of America, the British Broadcasting Company and Radio Moscow. Several missionary radio organizations have in vested millions o f dollars in various parts o f the world to utilize the phenomena of SHORTWAVE BROADCASTING. Now 500,000-watt medium wave and 260,000-watt shortwave transmitters are being used by at least one missionary broadcaster. Also 100,000-watt transmitters are being employed in growing numbers by others and an even larger number o f 50,000-watt and 30,000-watt transmit ters are in daily use to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How effective is shortwave broadcasting as a means for conveying the Gospel to today’s urban and rural population?
