At El Arco, halfway down the peninsula, the course of an under ground river was changed, caus ing an abandoned copper mine to flood.” We prayed for rain, but God gave water in abundance an other way! We may not know how to pray, but God certainly knows how to answer. Many and different are the forces God puts to work in an swering the prayers of those who ask expectantly. We may ask Him to send showers o f blessing upon some loved one. Instead, He may be pleased to call forth rivers of living water from that one. I f we pray for some event to happen or to pass us by, whatever the case may be, the en su in g circum stances make it plain to the Chris tian, that God is answering ei ther way. He will know the will of God in the matter. When, in faith believing, we ask Him to save a lost one or help a brother, God instantaneously puts forces to work which ultimately will con quer that soul for Christ. In some hearts God uses the method of quick conquest; in others it is a slow, but nevertheless thorough, process, and we may only see the result after many years. The in strument He uses could be you. We prayed for rain, but God gave water! This praying with expec tancy is a most interesting thing in the life o f the prayer warrior. Things develop and lead up to the answer where there seemed no an swer at all. Suddenly God shows us that He has wrought. It is then that we bow our heads and say, “Thank you, Lord! I knew You would.” Jesus said: “ Again I say unto you, That if two o f you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father wh ich is in h eaven ” (Matt. 18:19). The miracle at El Arco was “ the beginning of miracle,” re peated in many different forms over the years in the Congo. He is the same everywhere and under all circumstances — our prayer- anwering God!
