Wristband Policy and Pool Admission Standards Our facility uses wristbands to identify young and at-risk swimmers in the pool.

- Given to children 5 years old and under - Given to children 6-9 years who don’t pass the swim test

- Given to children ages 6-9 years who want to attempt the swim test

- Given to children ages 6-9 years who have passed the swim test

Age 5 and Under

• Children must be within arm’s reach of a guardian (12 years+) at all times, regardless of swimming ability. • Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted to the swimming pool unless they are accompanied by a parent or guardian (12 years+) • One guardian will be required for every two children (1:2)

Age 6-9 years

Facility Swim Test To pass the facility swim test, a child must be able to swim two widths of the pool with his or her face in the water. Swimmers must maintain a regular, comfortable breath- ing pattern and must not stop during the entire distance.

• Children must successfully complete the facility swim test in order to swim independently of their guardian (12 years+). If they do not pass, they must stay within arm’s reach of the guardian. • One guardian will be required for every four children (1:4) • One guardian may supervise up to eight children (1:8) wearing lifejackets Individuals with Serious Medical Conditions Individuals with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual 12 years of age or older who is knowledgeable of the condition and can assume responsibility for direct supervision.
