I have to th in k of m y­ self, an d these C hristians— th ey a re a l­ w ays th in k in g of o th e rs!” B ro th er R essler, one of th e first Men- n o n ite m issionaries to India, said, w hile sp eak in g a b o u t th e w o rk in India, th a t

first w hen th ey held th e ir m eetings d u r­ ing p ra y e r, th ey w ould k neel dow n a t a c h air as w as th e custom a t hom e. T he p eople said, “ O h, yes, I see, you w orship th e ch airs; we have o th e r gods.” Mr. M cC orm ack of th e U nion Medical C ollege, P eking, illu strates how influential m edical w o rk is in b re ak in g th e w ay fo r th e Gospel. A crow d of students, stan d in g by, w ere o b ­ serving th e op eratio n s, a n d one suddenly b ro k e o u t w ith, “ E ven his ow n brother, w ould n o t have done th a t fo r him .” F o r m any y e ars C h ristian s have p ra y ed fo r th e o p ening of T h ib et a n d th e ir p ra y e rs are, a t last, b ein g g rad u ally a n s­ w ered. E very y e a r sees advances of th e m issionaries on th e edges of this closed land, b o th from India an d C hina. Mr. E d­ g a r of th e C. I. M. has b een p re ac h in g a n d distrib u tin g G ospels to an enorm ous g a th e rin g of lam as a n d o th e r T h ib etan s a t th e Lita n g lam asery. T h e 4 0 0 0 m onks a re very friendly.
