Wilmington Country Club, a private country club located in Wilmington, Delaware, is the oldest and most prestigious country club in the state. The Club’s primary emphasis is on exceeding the expectations of its members, their families, and their personal guests. We are currently seeking a full-time Special Events Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of social events booked at the Club, ensuring each event’s success from planning through execution. Responsibilities include making event-related recommendations, coordinating logistics, and managing special events to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be creative, enthusiastic, and possess a dynamic personality. Candidates must have prior experience planning unique and engaging events and be able to demonstrate solid examples of past successes. This position requires flexibility, as the incumbent must be willing to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and most holidays. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for planning and coordinating special events including private functions, parties and other family social events Assists with the coordinating, planning, set-up, organization, follow-up and management of special events Maintain high levels of interaction with existing members, guests and staff in a professional manner Coordinate and maintain administrative paperwork related to special events as assigned by the Banquet & Events Manager Adaptable team member who works successfully within established frameworks, following guidelines and embodying the Wilmington Way. Work under the direction of the Banquet & Events Manager EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years of previous events planning experience working in a professional environment Successful candidate must be creative, enthusiastic and highly organized with a strong attention to detail Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and skilled in banquet and event service operations

Experience planning and executing large banquet events Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word & Excel Excellent written and oral communications skills Strong guest services skills OTHER REQUIRED NEEDS: Ability to prioritize, multitask and work independently. Commitment to work schedule

Must be able to bend and ability to lift at least 25 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Events Management preferred or Equivalent Work Experience.
