LEAVING AN INSPIRING LEGACY IN THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY

Welcome to a packed April/May edition of Ireland’s Electrical Magazine, showcasing talent and expertise across the island of Ireland. From a new driving force behind Kew Electrical Belfast to ongoing success in securing high- profile M&E projects for Solutions in Dublin, the industry reflected in these pages is vibrant and forward facing. Net zero is unsurprisingly a common theme, with a few new firms focused on renewables recently entering the market including EWL Greentech in Dundalk and STIEBEL ELTRON in Blanchardstown. ECA offers guidance for calculating embodied carbon, an increasing demand from many clients and buyers, as well as calling on

Northern Ireland’s restored government to focus on net zero and skills initiatives with the region playing catch up to the Republic of Ireland. In this edition, we also remember three distinguished industry figures who have passed away over the last few months, RFE founder Reg Farrell, former CKI Chairman and MD Arnold Kammerling and Sammy Millar, who had a 51-year career with Walter S Mercer. As well as living into their 80s, the three are united in their positive impact on colleagues and creation of an inspiring legacy in the electrical industry. Alyson Magee
