ECA Annual Dinner returns to the Culloden on April 19

Electricians and other installers in Northern Ireland are invited to contribute to industry and government efforts to ‘raise the bar’ on individual competence within the built environment in the UK. Input is sought by the Engineering and Building Services Skills Authority (EBSSA) to begin codifying standards and competences for the sector, in line with a new post-Grenfell competence regime established by the Building Safety Act. EBSSA formally launched an Engineering Services Super Sector entity charged with overseeing progress EBSSA seeking input to codify competences and standards

A popular event in

the annual social calendar of the

Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) is set to return to the Culloden Estate and Spa on April 19. The ECA Annual Dinner 2024 will be hosted by industry favourite Adrian Logan, with entertainment to be provided by comedian Andrew Ryan.

A more relaxed approach this year will see its previous black tie dress code dropped in favour of business attire including suits and ties. ECA is the main trade association for companies involved in electrotechnical and other technical engineering projects, operating regional branches in Northern Ireland, England and Wales. It is also represented in the Republic of Ireland

as part of the Construction Industry Federation. ECA’s Annual Dinner offers networking opportunities with leading manufacturers, distributors and key industry figures from across the electrotechnical and engineering services sector. For booking enquiries, contact ECA Regional Manager Alfie Watterson on T: +44 (0)7971 141 911. www.eca.co.uk

across all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and associated trade

disciplines at a meeting co-hosted with the Construction Leadership Council on January 29. Convened last year by Actuate UK members and other leading sector bodies including BEAMA, CIPHE, TICA and MCS, EBSSA aims to provide a credible authoritative voice for skills across all engineering and building services. Key objectives include providing data- based analysis of sector skills demand and supply, and identifying measurable interventions to close skills shortage gaps. Underpinning the work is a shared commitment to the UK’s net zero targets within both domestic and non- domestic buildings. www.actuateuk.org.uk/resources/ebssa/
