AGM SEES REAPPOINTMENT OF FIRST FEMALE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION, JOANNE CLUXTON FROM MERCURY ENGINEERING… Electrical sector representatives step forward at AGM
Among new appointments and returning office holders at the AGM of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) was Joanne Cluxton from Mercury Engineering, returning as the first woman to hold the position of vice president. ECA held its AGM jointly with the Mechanical Engineering & Building Services Contractors Association, at the Dublin HQ of the Construction Industry Federation on January 25, followed by the AGM of the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Association (M&ECA). Eamon McGrattan of CJK stepped down as president of MEBSCA and chair of the M&ECA, while Paul Nicholls from Designer Group, formerly vice president of MEBSCA was elected as president and M&ECA vice chair. Mark Hodson
from Laminar Engineering was elected as MEBSCA vice president. With chair of the M&ECA traditionally alternating between president of the ECA and MEBSCA, Sean Greally from Designer Group was elected as chair of M&ECA and re-elected as president of the ECA. Both M&ECA and MEBSCA expressed their gratitude to Eamon McGrattan for his dedication to the work of MEBSCA and M&ECA. Eamon has been a strong voice for the Irish mechanical sector in Ireland and on a European level, holding the position of president of GCP Europe for two years and currently immediate past president. Eamon remains involved in GCP Europe initiatives, working tirelessly on behalf of the Irish industry to ensure that all members of MEBSCA and M&ECA have
a voice, as well as encouraging greater member engagement at regular meetings. M&ECA welcomed Sean Greally from Designer Group, a long-standing member of ECA and M&ECA and over the past year heavily involved in the running of the associations, as chair. Sean has long been an advocate for fair procurement and tendering practices for all sub-contractors, and his knowledge and passion is regarded as a great asset to mechanical and electrical contractors. Following the formalities of both AGMs, M&ECA members were invited to attend the Annual M&ECA Dinner at FX Buckley Steakhouse, Dublin 2. T: +353 (01) 406 6000 E: info@cif.ie www.cif.ie
