The Lakes South Morang College - Issue 03

CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN ’ S DAY

Students across our College recently came together to honour the achievements and contributions of women worldwide. Many events took place, but of particular note were our Senior Secondary students who were invited to two key events – one being a luncheon at Parliament House hosted by local State Member the Hon. Lily D ’ Ambrosio MP, and the other a breakfast at Mill Park Secondary College hosted again by local State Member the Hon. Lily D ’ Ambrosio MP. Both events were a vibrant showcase of empowerment, featuring engaging discussions, inspiring presentations and highlighted the importance of gender equality. Students from The Lakes passionately shared their thoughts on the role of women in various fields, fostering a sense of unity and understanding. These celebrations serve as a reminder that education plays a pivotal role in shaping a future where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and succeed. COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS: FAMILY PARTNERSHIPS MATTER: CULTIVATING TRUST FROM THE FRONT GATE TO THE CLASSROOMS Recently, The Lakes has completed significant advocacy work in the area of family partnerships, presenting at both Regional Principal conferences and hosting a delegate of New Zealand, Aotearoa, Principals.
