Extra-Built Sdn Bhd (EBSB) is leading a project to reduce operational costs for orphanages and community facilities by upgrading outdated lighting (CFL, fluorescent, incandescent) to energy-efficient LED and solar-powered lighting. These upgrades are expected to cut energy consumption by 40%, easing financial burdens on beneficiaries. In collaboration with Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN), the project underwent a validation process, including assessments and site visits. YKN also identified its Anjung Singgah facilities, which provide lodging and training for the homeless and underprivileged, as ideal locations for the initiative.
