MIGHT presented on “Foresighting Higher Education 2035: Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities” at the SEANHES conference, which promoted collaboration among higher education institutions (HEIs) throughout ASEAN to share best practices and tackle global education challenges.
MIGHT highlighted three core themes:
· Anticipating the Future: The role of foresight in tracking trends and emerging challenges.
· A Challenging Future: Educational disparities, talent retention, and shifting workforce demands.
· Uncovering Opportunities: Embracing AI, digital platforms, and personalised learning to reshape education. Key takeaways included the rise of mega-universities, a shift toward skills-based learning, and the increasing significance of industry-academia collaboration. To stay competitive, HEIs need to adopt foresight-driven strategies and flexible ecosystems. MIGHT’s participation reaffirms its commitment to education, foresight, and human capital development, supporting Malaysia’s future-ready higher education agenda.
