Angkasa-X, CangYu Space Technology, and ADASpace formalised a strategic partnership to accelerate the growth of the ASEAN space industry, focusing on satellite R&D, integration, and ground infrastructure development. Hosted at MIGHT’s facility, the event served as a catalyst for fostering collaboration and new partnerships within the regional space sector. Key highlights included CangYu’s commitment of a US$100 million investment over five years, upcoming satellite launches under Angkasa-X’s A-SEANSAT and A-SEANLINK constellations, and the establishment of ground stations and AI- powered data centers across ASEAN. The Penang Space Technology Park was also highlighted as a long-term hub for investment, while MDEC’s Digital Acceleration Grant will play a pivotal role in nurturing SpaceTech talent. Chaired by MIGHT’s President and CEO, Ts Rushdi Abdul Rahim, the meeting focused on advancing key initiatives to propel Malaysia’s space industry. The main topics discussed were the Space Industry Flagship Programme, the ambitious Space City Project-envisioned as a central hub for space technology, research, and business incubation and the ongoing MASIC initiatives. Additionally, the meeting included recommendations to Mesyuarat Jawantankuasa Angkasa Kebangsaan (JANGKA) to formalise strategic programmes to support industry growth.
