MARIC as Co-Organiser for Symposium on Railway Infrastructure and Engineering 2024 (SRIE 2024) UTAR Campus, Selangor 28 November 2024 MARIC proudly co-organised the Symposium on Railway Infrastructure and Engineering 2024 (SRIE 2024) in collaboration with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), held at the UTAR Sg. Long Campus in Kajang. The symposium served as an important knowledge-sharing platform, bringing together industry professionals, researchers, and students to explore developments in railway infrastructure and engineering. By fostering dialogue between academia and the rail industry, SRIE 2024 aimed to strengthen collaboration and contribute to the development of a highly skilled talent pool for Malaysia’s growing railway sector. This initiative aligns closely with MARIC’s mission to promote local expertise, support innovation, and reinforce Malaysia’s position as a regional leader in railway engineering.

In a significant step towards advancing sustainability in the aerospace sector, Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC), a valuable research and technology entity to MIGHT and its industry partners, hosted the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Assessment Workshop. This joint workshop and training session focused on enhancing understanding and capabilities in GHG emission accounting within the aerospace manufacturing sector. The event marked the launch of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Assessment for Aerospace Manufacturing (GEM) pilot project. GEM aims to quantify the magnitude and sources of emissions generated by aerospace manufacturing activities. The assessment employed methodologies aligned with the GHG Protocol Initiative and the ISO 14064- 1 Standard, ensuring internationally recognised practices were followed.
