Ts Dr Raslan Ahmad participated as a panellist in the “Transforming Evaluation Systems to Mainstream Sustainability: Country Perspectives” session at the Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) Evaluation Environment and Development (EED) Conference 2024, on planning and implementing smart city initiatives in Malaysia. The discussion was moderated by Ketevan Nozadze from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) IEO and included contributions from three other esteemed panellists: Camilla MataMachado Soares, Director at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management of Brazil; Marvin Taylor-Dormond from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank; and Taku Chirau, Deputy Director of Learning on Evaluation & Results for Anglophone Africa. The discussion explored how countries can transform and strengthen evaluation systems and practices to mainstream sustainability,inform on systemic challenges, and use evaluation findings to advocate for better policies for people and the planet.
