GEF-8 Sustainable Cities Integrated Programme - Project Design and Knowledge Sharing
Belem, Brazil 15 - 17 April 2024
MIGHT participated in the Global Environment Facility (GEF-8) Sustainable Cities Integrated Programme - Project Design and Knowledge Sharing, co-located with the GEF-7 UrbanShift Forum in Belem, Brazil, organised by the GEF Secretariat & World Bank. This session involved key partners from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), C40 Cities, Local Government for Sustainability (ICLEI), World Resources Institute (WRI), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Brazil. During the session, selected country representatives from China, South Africa, and Brazil shared their projects’ lessons learned from the GEF 6 and GEF 7 cycles with the GEF 8 project applicants. The purpose is to have an integration approach involving multi-focal areas comprising the key thematic areas for later implementation at the city level.
