MIGHT at STS Forum: Bridging Ideas, Driving Innovation

The 21 st Annual Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum in Kyoto concluded on a high note, filled with optimism and forward-looking dialogue. Malaysia’s presence was marked by the participation of YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof Bin Apdal, Deputy Minister of MOSTI, alongside representatives from MIGHT and emerging leaders from its member organisations and demonstrating the country’s strong commitment to scientific and technological progress. The Deputy Minister took part in the Ministerial Roundtable and held impactful bilateral meetings with key stakeholders, including the Advanced Technology Research Council from the UAE and STS Forum Chairman, Sensei Komiyama. Prominent figures such as Tan Sri Zakri Abdul Hamid, Joint Chairman (Government) of MIGHT, and Ts Rushdi Abdul Rahim, President and CEO of MIGHT, contributed to various sessions. Topics included nurturing startup ecosystems, strategies for addressing climate risks, and integrating human intellect with artificial intelligence to drive innovation. MIGHT focused on gathering strategic insights to enhance market intelligence capabilities and support Malaysia’s journey toward becoming a regional technology hub. These engagements are expected to lay the groundwork for future collaborations and cross-border innovation partnerships to accelerate the nation’s technological growth.
