Special Briefing Session on the Rare Earth Elements (REE) Industry Parliament Malaysia 26 June 2024
MIGHT conducted a special briefing session for the Special Select Committee on Environment, Science, and Plantation, Malaysian Parliament. The session, chaired by the YB Datuk Ahmad Amzad Mohamed @ Hashim, Chairman, REE Industry Special Select Committee, focused on the strategic importance of developing local technology and expertise to enhance Malaysia’s advanced materials industry ecosystem, particularly in the critical domain of Rare Earth Elements (REE). The briefing highlighted the immense potential of REE in driving technological advancements and economic growth, underscoring the need for a robust local ecosystem to reduce reliance on imports and foster sustainable development.
MIGHT alsoemphasised the role of local innovation and talent development in positioning Malaysia as a global leader in advanced materials. This engagement reflects MIGHT’s commitment to collaborating with policymakers to ensure that the nation’s strategic priorities align with global trends and opportunities in the REE sector.
