Des employés de la Banque Royale du Canada (RBC), succursale de Casselman, ont récemment uni leurs efforts à certains groupes locaux des Guides du Canada afin d’aider à nettoyer certains endroits du vil- lage de Casselman. En effet, plus d’une trentaine demembres des groupes Sparks, Brownies, Guides et Cheftaines de la région ont reçu l’aide de quelques employés de la RBC, afin de ramas- ser les ordures au bord de l’eau, au bout de la rue des Chênes, autour de l’Académie de la Seigneurie ainsi que dans les rues du quartier. De plus, ce partenariat a permis la construction d’habitats pour canards, qui ont déjà été installés localement afin d’aider la faune. Ils ont aussi planté 11 épinettes blanches sur le terrain de l’Académie de la Seigneurie. Les Guides de Casselman et Limoges ont dit apprécier l’aide assidue de la RBC, ceci étant la deuxième fois que les employés de la banque se joignent à cet effort environ- nemental. La RBC a également fourni du matériel pour des réunions et leur a déjà rendu visite lors d’une rencontre des Guides.

While the drenching rain in the end forced them to turn back early and return to the Legion parking lot, they still took comfort, and pride, in the fact that they raised more than $3000 in memory of Joe Murphy, a former Toyota employee, to support the work of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
