Refurb & Renew
As an interior design team we have extensive knowledge and experience of refurbishing and re-purposing existing spaces. The process of renewing and refurbishing interior spaces is a detailed and multi-faceted journey that begins with understanding the client brief along with a thorough assessment of the existing space. This initial evaluation focuses on identifying structural issues, wear and tear, outdated systems, and areas in need of repair or improvement. Once the assessment is complete, the next phase is conceptualising the design. This involves creating a vision for the space that aligns with the client’s needs, preferences, and budget. This is where we play a key role designing, suggesting layout changes, selecting colour schemes, and integrating elements such as lighting, furniture, and materials to meet the desired aesthetic. Space planning is critical, especially in smaller or multifunctional spaces, to ensure that every inch is utilised effectively without compromising comfort or flow. After the design concept is finalised, the focus shifts to selecting materials and finishes that are both desirable and practical. To achieve a sustainable scheme we consider environmentally friendly materials, such as reclaimed wood, low-VOC paints, and energy-efficient fixtures. With the design and materials decided, the refurbishment work begins, often involving professional contractors, M&E consultants, and other skilled trades. The process may include tasks such as structural repairs, installing new flooring, updating electrical wiring, or reconfiguring walls. As the construction progresses, it’s crucial to oversee the quality of work to ensure it aligns with the original design vision. Once the construction and major work are completed, the final touches are added, including new furniture, decorative accents, and customised elements that personalise the space. The space is then thoroughly cleaned, styled, and dressed, with attention to lighting and decor that complements the overall theme. The result of a successful renewal and refurbishment is a revitalised interior that not only looks refreshed and contemporary but also enhances the functionality, comfort, and overall experience for the people who use the space.
